Rom-Com Anime ‘The Dangers in My Heart’ Set to Return in January 2024

The Dangers In My Heart is based on Norio Sakurai’s manga. The anime follows Kyotaro Ichikawa, a high school student who thinks he’s the star of a psychological thriller, and Anna Yamada, the class idol.

While the premise sounds dark and twisted, it’s actually a light-hearted, romantic comedy that will win you over with its charming characters, engaging story, and impeccable animation. The anime had a very rocky start, but as we progressed through episodes, fans started to root for Kyotaro in his endeavors.

The 12th episode of Norio Sakurai’s The Dangers in My Heart (Boku no Kokoro no Yabai Yatsu) television anime closed on Sunday with the announcement of a second season in January. The new season will also air on TV Asahi and its 23 affiliates, as well as BS Asahi, in the NUMAnimation programming block.

The teaser for the anime reveals the January debut, and we can also hear our two protagonists, Kyotato and Anna, talking. Norio sensei also drew an illustration to commemorate the series’ comeback. 

The staff and cast of the series are also expected to return for the upcoming season of the anime. The Dangers in My Heart has had quite an interesting run, from a full-on bore to an incredibly wholesome ride filled with great character growth.

Granted, I liked the show from the beginning, even with how cringy some of it was. Fast forward to the last episode, and this became one of the shows I looked forward to the most every week in the spring anime season. 

From being lukewarm on the protagonist, I definitely came around to him, and he became one of my favorite male characters of the season. So, stick around to get more juicy details on the funky duo.

About The Dangers in My Heart

The Dangers in My Heart manga by Norio Sakurai was launched in March 2018. It is licensed in English by Seven Seas Entertainment.

The manga focuses on Kyotaro, a school kid who thinks he is messed up because he often thinks violently about his classmates. Just as he plans how to stab the class’ popular girl, she notices him.

Anna, the girl in question, is pretty weird herself, and Kyotaro gets to know her odd nature as they get closer.
