Are you ready for another roller coaster ride of drama, mystery, romance, and suspense, Riverdale fans? We sure are!
Riverdale Season 7 has taken us on a wild trip to the past, where our favorite characters live in the 1950s.
However, things are not as simple as they seem, and secrets and dangers are lurking in every corner.
The last episode left us with so many jaw-dropping moments that we can’t wait to see what happens next. In this post, we will share our predictions and hopes for Riverdale Season 7 Episode 13, which airs on June 28, 2023.
So, let’s start without further ado!
1. Season 7, Episode 13 Synopsis/Speculation
Next week’s episode is titled Crucible and has a very special significance. However, before knowing that, let’s watch next week’s episode promo.
The next episode is titled ‘The Crucible’, and it is about the famous play by Arthur Miller about the Salem witch trials and the hysteria that gripped a small town in Massachusetts in the 17th century.
The play is also a metaphor for the McCarthyism era in the 1950s when many people were accused of being communists and faced persecution. So, what does this have to do with Riverdale?
Well, according to the synopsis, panic ensues after Archie and the gang learn that Mrs. Thornton, their beloved history teacher, is accused of being a communist by Principal Featherhead.
Will they be able to save her from being blacklisted? Or will they find themselves in danger as well?
But that’s not all. There’s also some drama brewing in the Lodge family, as Hiram Lodge, the notorious mob boss and Veronica’s estranged father, returns to Riverdale for a surprise visit.
Hiram was killed off in season six by Veronica herself, who put a hit on him after he tried to destroy the town with a bomb. But thanks to the time-travel twist that transported the gang back to the 1950s, Hiram is alive and well and apparently an actor living in Los Angeles with his wife, Hermione.
Veronica is suspicious of his motives and wonders what he’s really up to. Will he try to reconcile with his daughter? Or will he cause more trouble for her and her friends?
And last but not least, there’s also some trouble brewing at Riverdale High, as Cheryl’s father, Clifford Blossom, forces her to out gay students or risk losing power over the Vixens.
Cheryl, who is openly bisexual and dating Toni Topaz, is faced with a dilemma: should she betray her fellow LGBTQ+ students and protect her status as the school’s queen bee? Or should she stand up to her father and risk his wrath?
What will Toni think of her decision? And how will Kevin Keller, who is also gay and Betty’s best friend, react?
A lot is happening in this episode, and I’m sure it will be full of twists and turns. I’m curious to see how Hiram Lodge will fit into this new timeline and what his relationship with Veronica will be like.
And, of course, I’m looking forward to seeing some fantastic musical performances by Archie and his bandmates.

About Riverdale
Based on a story from the popular Archies Comics, the 2017 Netflix drama Riverdale is centered on an innocent, small town of the same name.
It follows a group of high school students who are shocked by the death of a classmate, Jason Blossom. Together they unravel the secrets of Riverdale and who killed Jason.
Cole Sprouse’s grungy Jughead is the show’s narrator and school reporter who almost acts like its ‘Gossip Girl’ — documenting the characters’ lives and filling in the blanks for us.
