Naofumi orders a brand new Miko outfit for Raphtalia, not knowing the dangers that come with it. He asks her to wear it, and all the kids praise her since she looks beautiful, but later that day, when Sadeena sees her wearing it, she freaks out. She rushes to Raphtalia, asking her to change her outfit, but before she can do anything, a bunch of assassins attack, who are especially immune to the cardinal heroes’ attacks.
The heroes manage to take down the enemies with the help of Naofumi and Raphtalias newly gained control over the power of the dragon veins. With less than two months left before its arrival, a new enemy appears in front of them, the nation of Q’ten Lo. At the end of episode 12, Naofumi and everyone else set out for the nation to resolve this matter.

Once Raphtalia returns after changing, all the kids praise her, saying she looks really beautiful. Naofumi tells her that she should wear this outfit from now on. Sadeena returns to the village when it’s almost evening, and she panics as soon as she sees Raphtalia in that outfit. She tells her to take it off quickly.
Naofumi stops her, asking what’s wrong, but Sadeena rushes Raphtalia to remove the outfit. As she goes to change, a bunch of assassins attack the village, gravely injuring one of the kids. As the heroes start to fight back, they realize the enemies are especially immune to the cardinal heroes’ attacks. Naofumi uses the power of the dragon veins along with Raphtalia to cast an illusion magic, and while the enemies are confused, the group takes them out.
Sadeena tells Naofumi that they are assassins from the empire of Q’ten Lo, and wearing a Miko outfit is like a declaration of a challenge for the throne since Raphtalia is originally a descendant of the empire’s royalty. The assassins have been keeping an eye on Raphtalia since the moment she was born.
After knowing they are just using this as an excuse to eliminate her, Naofumi decides to go to the nation of Q’ten Lo and talk to them directly since it’s impossible to prepare for the phoenix with assassins on their back. He even says that if the situation calls for it, he will crush Q’ten Lo and force them to submit.

Once he returns to the village, Naofumi tells everyone that he and Wyndia will fly to Siltvelt first with Gaelion and then use teleportation magic to summon the rest of them.

Tate no Yusha no Nariagari or The Rising of the Shield Hero is an isekai light novel series written by Aneko Yusagi. It was initially published as a web novel on the Shosetsuka ni Naro website from 2012 to 2015.
