In Assassin’s Creed Shadows, you only need to whistle to call your mount anytime, anywhere. When you call your horse, Naoe or Yasuke will instantly mount and begin riding.

You start with a common horse for Naoe, but you can upgrade it to a higher-rarity mount by purchasing one from an Ornament Vendor scattered throughout the map.

To upgrade your horse to a higher rarity in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, interact with an ornament vendor, choose a higher-rarity mount, and purchase it with in-game currency, with prices adjusting according to your current level.

However, keep in mind that the upgrade doesn’t give you any functional advantages like better speed or special abilities, and is purely cosmetic.

Set in 16th-century Japan towards the end of the Sengoku period, the game will focus on the millennia-old struggle of the Assassin Brotherhood, who fight for peace and liberty, and the Templar Order, who desire peace through control, from the perspective of two protagonists: Naoe, a female shinobi, and Yasuke, an African samurai inspired by the historical figure of the same name.
