Episode 23 of Re:ZERO Season 2 focused on Garfiel’s powerful fight with Elsa. Despite Garfiel’s countless attempts of wounding Elsa, she healed quickly making Garfiel believe that Elsa was a vampire.
Subaru, Otto and the others fought and killed the demon beast by setting it on fire, while Garfiel was finally able to kill Elsa by her squashing under one of the demon beasts’ body.
Meanwhile, Emilia passed the third trial and gained access to Echidna’s grave and finally broke the spell of the barrier. But, when she came out of the ruins, an endless winter had already started.
Later, Ram burned Roswaal’s Book of Wisdom in an attempt to stop his evil ways.
1. Episode 24 Predictions and Speculations
Episode 23 showed us how Ram destroyed Roswaal’s precious Book of Wisdom.
The fans predict that Episode 24 might feature a showdown between Ram and Roswaal which might involve Emilia who will probably try to figure out the eternal winter situation.
The fans are also looking forward to Subaru and Beatrice’s interaction and want know if Subaru is successful on finally persuading Beatrice to join their team.

Episode 24 of the Re:Zero Season 2 anime will be released on Wednesday, March 17th, 2021 only for Crunchyroll Premium users. Regular users can watch Re:Zero Season 2 Episode 24 on 24th March, 2021.
Since this anime runs on a weekly schedule, new episode releases are seven days apart.

3. Episode 23 Recap
Garfiel and Elsa engage in a fierce battle. The two super powerful beings don’t seem to waver at the overwhelming power of their opponents.
Garfiel gets an upper hand in the fight and tries to land blow after blow onto Elsa’s body. But miraculously, not even one punch hits her and when she finally gets hurt, her body immediately heals.
Witnessing this situation, Garfiel finally understands that Elsa is a vampire and can only be killed with some sort of a heavy impact.
Meanwhile, Subaru, Otto and the others are outside Roswaal’s room trying to fight the demon beast. They distract it and Otto and Petra throw oil at the beast to light it on fire. After the fire burns the beast, Subaru instructs Otto to take Rem and Petra and escape through the secret tunnel while he tries to convince Beatrice again.
Garfiel’s sister, Frederica stops Meili from helping Elsa and Garfiel finally finds a chance to injure Elsa and she gets killed by the impact of a falling demon beast.
Later, Emilia finally overcomes the third trial and finally finds a way to break the spell of the barrier using Echidna’s grave. She comes out of the ruins victoriously, only to find eternal winter spread throughout the village.
While Ram and Puck’s are confronting Roswaal, Ram tries to talk some sense into him once more.
The episode ends as Ram burns Roswaal’s Book of Wisdom as a sign of warning to stop his evildoings when convincing him does not work.

Re:Zero − Starting Life in Another World is a Japanese light novel series written by Tappei Nagatsuki and illustrated by Shinichirou Otsuka.
The plot is based on Subaru Natsuki, the protagonist who gets sucked into a fantasy world on his way home from the convenience store. He gets attacked by a group of thugs and is beaten to a pulp immediately, but this girl from the fantasy world named Satella saves him.
