Episode 15 ended with Subaru finding Emilia near the trial chamber, where she is gradually regaining her lost memories. Subaru gave her company in this tough time and confessed his love towards Emilia once again.

Meanwhile, Ram and Otto try their best to keep Garfield away from them till Emilia goes through the trial. Can Subaru free the sanctuary and save the mansion at the same time? We bring you the latest episode updates for this anime. 

1. Episode 16 Preview and Speculations   

In the preview video, Garfield appears before Echidna’s tomb and threatens Subaru. Emilia gets in front of Subaru to protect him. As Garfield was about to transform again, Subaru tells him something about his past.

Episode 16 will revolve around Garfield’s backstory, explaining why he is so against freeing the sanctuary. Subaru must have known about Garfield’s past from Riyusu, and he will be trying to talk things out without engaging in a battle.

And even if this doesn’t go as planned, he can always retry with his ‘Return by Death’ ability.

Episode 16 of the Re:Zero anime has been released on Wednesday, Jan 20, 2021. The episode title or preview has not been shown.

3. Episode 15 Recap. 

Episode 15 revolves around Subaru’s attempt to free the sanctuary, and this time he isn’t alone. He has Otto and Ram by his side.

Since Puck broke his contract with Emilia, she is regaining her lost memories. She feels lonely, and requests Subaru to stay by her side till the morning.

But Subaru wasn’t there when she woke up, and she leaves the place without telling anyone. Garfield feels something is wrong, and he rushes to the Riyusu Mayor’s crystal, where he meets Otto.

We get to see flashbacks from Otto’s past, explaining to us how he adapted the abnormality in his possession and how he ended up being a merchant.

Otto’s mission is to keep Garfield away from the trial chamber, and he summons an army of bugs to distract him. But that wasn’t enough to stop someone as tough as Garfield. He keeps pursuing Otto, rampaging through the forest.

Just when Otto was on his limits, Ram appears to save him, thereby forcing Garfield to transform into the beast. She keeps dodging his attacks and countering back with her wind magic.

Meanwhile, Subaru finds Emilia near Echidna’s tomb and provides her the mental support she needs before the final trial. However, Emilia is heartbroken because Subaru broke his promise.

Then comes the moment for which we all have been waiting since the first episode. Subaru confesses his love for Emilia and kisses her. He reminds Emilia of all her flaws and assures her that he will love her for who she is.
