The new release date may be changed again if the Japanese authorities issue further guidelines.

The anime film is the sequel to the first film in the franchise, which was also delayed under similar conditions last year. The film’s trailer was released back in August 2020 along with the information regarding the cast and crew.
Earlier in the month, the anime films “Wani Lived for 100 Days” and “Knights of Sidonia: Love Woven in the Stars” were also announced to be postponed due to COVID.
Despite the disappointment among the fans, the strict guidelines introduced by the Japanese authorities will help the nation curb the rising number of coronavirus cases.
