With the Resident Evil Village’s demo going live this weekend for PS5 and PS4 players in the US, enthusiasts gave the game top overall feedback. The visuals were applauded the most. It almost seemed like there are no downsides to this survival game, but then a tiny inconvenience popped up for PS5 users.
PS5 players of Resident Evil Village have found a “motion camera sensor mode” in the options setting. When selected, it enables the gyro controls.
For the unaware, gyro controls let you control the camera movement of your game by moving the controller, not thumbsticks.
The mode isn’t accessible on PS4. Resident Evil Village’s motion camera sensor mode is available only on PS5’s version of the demo.
The issue with Resident Evil Village’s motion camera sensor mode is that its implementation felt incomplete and unpolished. A player complained that there should be a way to confine specific camera movements to the gyro controls, fine-tuning your weapon aiming.
Moreover, enabling the gyro controls completely disables the right analog stick. This doesn’t allow players to get the best of both worlds but stays restricted to just the gyro controls.
Currently, Capcom is yet to reflect on the issue.
Will the gyro controls be available on all platforms? Did the demo sport gyro controls in their true glory, or does it still require some work?
Such doubts will only be clarified when Capcom comments on the same.
With the game set to launch on May 7, I guess we’ll know more and more about Resident Evil Village with the ripples in time.
