Netflix is all set to bring the Resident Evil franchise in an anime form. Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness is based on the renowned video game of the same name and will be released this summer. But, before its premiere, here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming animated action series.
It is slated for release on the streaming service on July 8, although the number of episodes has not been confirmed yet. But given its imminent release, promotions for the series have already begun.
Following the teaser from September 2020, Netflix released the official trailer for Infinite Darkness yesterday. The clip begins with the discovery of a zombie outbreak which is recounted by Leon S. Kennedy.
He is joined by Claire Redfield, who helps him investigate the matter while government officials refuse to acknowledge the news to avoid exposing national secrets. The clip also offers glimpses at the zombie attacks, battlefield scenes, and at the end, a horrifying monster shrouded in mystery. Check out the trailer here:
Furthermore, back in March, Netflix also released new images from the upcoming series, including a poster and synopsis. Check them out here:
So far, three characters from the video game have been confirmed for the series: Leon, Claire, and President Graham. Apart from them are five others who do not have any connection to the game and are thus new additions to the franchise.
