Fans of Resident Evil, unite! Prepare for Resident Evil: Death Island, the fourth and newest entry in the animated Resident Evil series and the latest entry in the Japanese action film franchise. The movie takes place in the Resident Evil video game universe.
The new CG animated film in the Resident Evil series from CAPCOM, Resident Evil: Death Island (Japanese title: Biohazard: Death Island), debuted its full trailer on Tuesday on Kadokawa’s Youtube channel. The movie’s opening in Japan is announced in the trailer for July 7.
The Resident Evil: Death Island film is the sequel to the Resident Evil: Vendetta film, which screened in theaters in the United States and Canada in June 2017.
The film has a completely original story and features characters from multiple games in the series, as seen in the key visual that was released.
As for the staff that will be working behind the scenes, they include:
- Director: Eiichiro Hasumi
- Screenplay: Makoto Fukami
- Music: Rei Kondo
- CG Director: Tomohiro Shimizu.
- CG Production: Quebico
- Produced by TMS Entertainment
- Distributor: Kadokawa ANIMATION

Normally, I wouldn’t get too excited about a Resident Evil film because neither the live-action nor CG entries have been particularly good. I mean, all of your favorite Resident Evil characters are back to take on zombie sharks. How could anyone not be ecstatic about this?

Resident Evil: Death Island is an upcoming Japanese adult computer-animated action horror film set in the same universe as the Resident Evil video games.
D.S.O. agent Leon S. Kennedy is on a mission to rescue Dr. Antonio Taylor from kidnappers when he is stopped by a mysterious woman. Meanwhile, B.S.A.A. agent Chris Redfield is looking into a zombie epidemic in San Francisco, where the source of the virus is unknown.
The only thing the victims have in common is that they had all recently visited Alcatraz Island. Following that lead, Chris and the others travel to the island, where they encounter a new nightmare.
