The Capcom Spotlight on 9th March,2023 brought new hopes to the players of Resident Evil 4, who were looking forward to the remake. This was also hinted at by a previous Twitch ad right before the Spotlight event.
Resident Evil 4 – Chainsaw Demo is finally out on all platforms, with no limited playtime and the game being re-playable as many times as desired by the player. An early preview of the game is available with the players playing as Leon S. Kennedy.
As per the description, the remake finds Kennedy six years after “the biological disaster of Raccoon City”. The new adventure for Leon is more of a mission wherein he reports directly to the President and has been dispatched to rescue the President’s abducted daughter.
After tracking her down to a European village and realizing there’s more to it than meets the eye, the game sets off a horrifying and gripping tone.
The game has Capcom’s proprietary RE engine delivering modern gameplay, a reimagined storyline, and vividly detailed graphics.
In the same breath, the developers also mentioned that works have begun on the VR mode of Resident Evil 4, which would be a DLC offering.
The game also boasts of a mammoth file size of around 67GBs, far outweighing any of its predecessors. Of course, the file sizes vary with the platform, but it can be expected to be around in the 67GB range.
The remake is available for pre-order on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S and on PC via Steam. The Demo is available on all these platforms as well, with the date of release set to be March 24th, 2023.
