Report: Anthem’s Destiny Is Completely in EA’s Hand

Anthem is Bioware’s third-person shooter that rolled out two years ago. Following a subpar release, BioWare promised to revamp the game. These promises have turned out to be empty so far, as the released updates didn’t impact the game by much. 

Called Anthem Next, the remaster project of Anthem could reportedly get discarded now.

Apparently, EA – BioWare’s parent company will decide Anthem’s fate after some severe reviewing this week. The probability of EA canceling the project is similar to the likelihood of them giving BioWare the green light.

BioWare has a total of 30 people working on the project. It is believed that the famous developing company requires 90 developers to deliver the top-class experience that was pledged.

A year back, BioWare’s GM, Casey Hudson, said 

“We will be focusing on a longer-term redesign of the experience, specifically working to reinvent the core gameplay loop with clear goals, motivating challenges and progression with meaningful rewards — while preserving the fun of flying and fighting in a vast science-fantasy setting.”

By the comments of Hudson, it was clear that BioWare aims to remodel the game completely. What’s left to be seen is if Electronic Arts are willing to commit to the ambitious project.

It’s a 50/50 situation as of now. All we can do right now is wait for EA to spill the beans.

Currently, if it all goes as planned for BioWare, enthusiasts will get a new update shortly. It will bring several improvements to loot drops, weapons, the Javelins, and skill tree changes.
