Rent-a-Girlfriend season 3, the continuation of the captivating rom-com harem series, has been one of the year’s most eagerly awaited anime series sequels. The series has acquired a limited but dedicated fandom in years past, serving as the continuation of the television anime adaptation of author and illustrator Reiji Miyajima’s original manga of the same name.
On Saturday, the staff of Reiji Miyajima’s Rent-A-Girlfriend (Kanojo, Okarishimasu) anime unveiled the July 7 premiere date as well as the “Sumi Sakurasawa date” visual for the anime’s third season. The series also revealed that Helca would play the opening theme.
Sumi is the final of the original four Rent-a-Girlfriend TV anime characters to get a brand-new character visual ahead of the third season. The visual released shows Sumi sitting and surrounded by flowers.

Meanwhile, the staff that has worked on the previous season of the series is also returning, with one change: Shin’ya Une (Rent-A-Girlfriend episode director) is replacing Kazuomi Koga to direct the new season at TMS Entertainment (in collaboration with Studio Comet).

Rent-A-Girlfriend, also known as Kanojo, Okarishimasu, is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Reiji Miyajima. It has been serialized in Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine since July 2017 and has been compiled into thirty volumes as of February 2023.
A spinoff manga “Rent-A-(Really Shy!)-Girlfriend” which focuses on the character Sumi is also in serialization since June 21, 2020. An anime television series adaptation by TMS Entertainment premiered in July 2020 in the Animeism block.
Kazuya Kinoshita is dumped by his girlfriend, Mami Nanami, after dating for about a month. He then decides to use an online app to rent a girlfriend named Chizuru Mizuhara, a beautiful and attractive girl.
The story moves on as their lives become complicated and entangled with each other. Later, other girls from the girlfriend business also join in dating and showing interest in Kazuya.
