In Episode 1, titled ‘Everything is Useless,’ we learn about a 28 years old man named Hashiba Kyoya who lost his job and after losing all the motivation, he returned back to his hometown.
Later, he found himself sent back to 10 years in the past where he was again given the chance to retake his life decisions. He makes some new friends, including Akishima Shino, his favorite illustrator from the future.

1. Episode 2 Preview & Speculation
The moments between Hashiba and Shino hinted that the relationship between the duo would grow.
Since the name of the show is ‘Remake OUR Life,’ it might be possible that the chief and maybe some of the share house members have also traveled ten years into the past. Maybe to do something different because they were already successful in 2016.
However, judging from the chief’s face, it seemed like she was really meeting Hashiba for the first time and was shocked to be addressed as chief.
Furthermore, none of the Platinum generation (presumably his three roommates are the Platinum trio) were paying attention in class, which could also mean that they already know what they are going to do in the future.
2. Episode 2 Release Date
Episode 2 of the Remake Our Life! (2021) anime, titled “Back to Ten Years’ Past”, has been released on Saturday, Jul 10, 2021.
Since this anime runs on a weekly schedule, new episode releases are seven days apart.

3. Episode 1 Recap
Hashiba Kyoya is a 28 years old game developer who loses his job due to his company going bankrupt. With almost no money in his pocket, he buys a bus ticket to his hometown with the last of his cash and returns to his parent’s house.
Later, when Hashiba sleeps in his room, his sister comes to drop off his call letter from when he got into art school. Hashiba looks at the letter and wonders where he would be at now if he had joined the art school instead of the economics school.
He remembers the day he met another game developer, who tells him about her company running out of staff. Hashiba tells her that he can cover that void and thus lands a big gig at ‘Succeed Soft,’ Japan’s one of the biggest game designing companies.
After working there for quite some time, he proves himself as a reliable team member and exceeds everyone’s expectations, but his happiness doesn’t last long. He learns about the productions withdrawing from the project he was working on.
He goes home and closes his eyes, thinking about what to do next. But when he opens his eyes, he discovers that he had traveled ten years back to the time before he entered college. It’s almost like life has given him another chance.
This time, he chooses Art school over Economics school and moves out of the house to live on his own. He meets three other fellow art school students at his sharehouse, Nanako Kogure, Tsurayuki Rokuonji, and Shino Aki.
The following day, they head together to Oonaka University of arts. After finishing his first lecture, Hashiba discovers that Eiko Kawasegawa, his team leader from ten years later, is also his classmate. The day ends with the quartet enjoying the yearly freshmen party.
Later, Hashiba gives a piggyback ride to Shino up to their share house. While taking Shino’s bag to her room, Hashiba discovers that Shino Aki is Akishima Shino, his favorite illustrator from the future. Hashiba looks at her and feels motivated to find his passion too.
4. About Remake Our Life!
Remake Our Life! a romantic comedy light novel series written by Kionachi and illustrated by Eretto. Media Factory has published seven volumes and two spin-off volumes since March 2017 under their MF Bunko J imprint.
Kyoya Hasiba, an unsuccessful game director goes bankrupt after his company fails to take off. It leads him to return to his parents’ home.
While taking a nap in his old bedroom thinking about the other successful game creators of his generation, he time-slips ten years into his past without his own knowledge.
He considers this as his second chance at life and takes it to remake his life. Now, an 18-something Arts college student, he shares a house with four other people.
Though he considers this an opportunity to change the decisions he made in his formative life, things don’t quite turn out the way he wanted to.
