So many forms of media drop the ball when it comes to time travel. With only a handful succeeding in executing the concept, Remake Our Life! sets out to etch its name in the Hall of Fame this July.
While most anime today ride the isekai wave to offer their viewers escapism, Remake Our Life! takes a different approach. The show makes Kyouya go back in time rather than to another world to escape his life crisis.
Although the concept is nothing new, it is not something that we have seen in a while in the anime world.
The official website for Remake Our Life! anime is now streaming the second promotional PV for the upcoming anime adaptation. The anime is set to debut on July 3, 2021.
The PV shows Kyouya suddenly waking up in his bedroom ten years ago. Then he is shown attending an orientation of a film school. There he meets his new housemates, who are supposedly people who will become famous in the future.
We are given an insight into the cast’s psyche through their conversations with Kyouya.
The PV also debuts the opening theme song “Possibility” by Argonavis and the ending theme “Koko kara Saki wa Uta ni Naranai” by Poppin’ Party.
The main cast for the upcoming anime was already announced with the release of the first PV.
Meanwhile, the PV reveals the additional cast at the end:
Character | Cast | Other Works |
Miyuki Sawashiro | Kano | Kyouko Honda (Fruits Basket) |
Hidenori Takahashi | Genkirō Hikawa | Konohamaru Sarutobi (Boruto) |
Atsushi Tamaru | Takashi Kiryū | Takumi Hira (Tsukigakirei) |
Sae Ootsuka | Yurika Hiyama | Juri Torigoe (Rebirth) |
Fukushi Ochiai | Mikio Sugimoto | Bonjiri (Megalo Box 2) |
Yoshiki Nakajima | Shō Kakihara | Yoshifumi Nitta (Hinamatsuri) |
Hazuki Tanda | Miyoko Hashiba | Miyu Sakurada (D4DJ First Mix) |
This series seems to be very reminiscent of Orange. Both of them portray the idea of fixing past mistakes through some sort of time travel. Although Orange did it through letters, it will be interesting to see what Kyouya does, knowing what is about to happen.
There is a strong possibility of things not going Kyouya’s way, as is the case with many time travel shows. Nevertheless, there is no doubt that this can be a future classic if it does the time travel part justice!!
