On SmackDown this week, Roman Reigns surprised everyone by announcing his tag team partner for Night of Champions. He said he will join forces with Solo Sikoa to challenge Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Titles.
If you’re an avid follower of WWE, you know that this is not the first time Roman Reigns is up there. He has competed for the tag team titles before, and he is all set to do it again on May 27th.
Roman Reigns has won the WWE tag team championship once in his career before. He and Seth Rollins captured the titles from Team Hell No at Extreme Rules 2013 and held them for about four months. They finally lost the titles to Cody Rhodes and Goldust on Monday Night RAW.
Reigns will reach a milestone of 1,000 days as Universal Champion at the Night of Champions event. He became the champion by defeating Braun Strowman and Bray Wyatt in a triple threat match at Payback 2020.
The Bloodline came to the ring to talk about the most recent episode of WWE SmackDown. Roman Reigns scolded Jimmy and Jey for losing to Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn and not getting back the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship.
Jey apologized to Roman for The Usos and asked The Tribal Chief to give them one more opportunity to win the titles for The Bloodline. Paul Heyman shocked everyone when he announced that The Usos will not get another shot at the tag team championship.
He said Reigns and Solo Sikoa will face the champions in Saudi Arabia this month instead.
The Head of The Table said he will honor the best tag team ever, The Wild Samoan, with the victory. After they spoke, the lWO came up to The Usos and challenged them to a match on WWE SmackDown next week.
Hope you’re as excited to watch next week’s show as we are!
