Shizuka returns to Akira, and they confess in chapter 57 of Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead, titled “Dolphins of the Dead(3).”
It was quite a steamy chapter. We got the confession and the kiss in the same chapter, and the dying wish of all the fans finally came true. Congratulations, they are a couple now.
It turns out that Shizuka wasn’t really gonna leave him behind. The reason for that feels kind of generic, but who cares? They are back together, and that’s all that matters.

4. Chapter 57 Recap
Akira keeps on crying loudly. He can’t control himself and continues crying for two whole pages. Suddenly, he hears someone calling him out from behind. He turns back to find Shizuka running from zombies.
She tells him that his non-stop wailing brought all the zombies there. He asks her why she is back. She tells him she never said she would leave and just wanted to know what he would do if she left.
In a flashback, we see that Shizuka declines Sasaki’s offer to join him because she can’t leave before Akira confesses to her. She would rather get eaten by zombies than move on without him admitting his feelings.
Sasaki gets quite sad and admits that he also hoped to get close to her, apart from making her his assistant. He tells her to contact him whenever she needs any help.
Akira can’t control his tears after hearing the backstory. He tells her that he thought she would leave him as he tends to hold back when he is with her. She calls him an idiot for thinking like that.
She asks him why he held himself back when she asked him. He tells her that he has already completed his bucket list wish of “confessing his love to the girl he loves,” and he felt it would be mid to do that again.
Hearing this infuriates Shizuka. She tells him that she is turning back. They reach the seashore and now have nowhere to run. They look at each other and, thinking this is the end, kiss.
Akira confesses his love for Shizuka. She returns those words, and they go on to kiss for two pages. As the zombies approach, they are suddenly pulled into the water by dolphins.
Their friends spot them. The waiter explains to them how dolphins have been considered a hero in many places of the world for saving people from all sorts of danger.
The group realizes that the couple has finally confessed to each other. Akira completes his wish of swimming with dolphins. They all sit down to dine together. While eating, Akira chokes himself.
Shizuka provides him with water, saying she knew he would choke, given how clumsy he is. Seeing them quarrel, some friends think they are breaking up, but Ryuuzaki tells them he has never seen the two look happier.
