Eri gets extremely emotional watching the fight and tries to go to Deku. However, Ectoplasm moves to protect Eri and keep her in the shelter.

I. Is My Hero Academia on a Break?
‘My Hero Academia’ is not on a break this week. Chapter 417 has not been delayed and will be released on the above-stated date.
2. Chapter 417 Raw Scans
The chapter begins with a gust of wind coming out of Shigaraki, creating waves and sending Hatsume’s robot flying away. The people watching the fight are confused because it looks like Midoriya has entered Shigaraki’s finger cocoon.
The next page shows Deku inside the fingers, throwing a punch that transfers all the users except Nana. She calls out everyone else’s name but soon realizes she has been repelled due to her conflicting feelings regarding Shigaraki and Kotarou.
When Deku’s about to ring the doorbell, he’s approached by a dark version of himself. “What are you planning? What will actually change if you know about the past?”. Deku realizes it’s Shigaraki talking to him and says he doesn’t know for sure, but he has to find out.
Dark Deku says, “Die,” but Deku only replies, “I’m coming in.” But before he does, he almost gets hit by a truck, and his backpack gets scratched, which makes Deku realize that he is physically inhabiting that world.
Nana says that since Deku is an OFA user, he has taken on a physical form when entering Shigaraki’s unconscious worlds and can now interact with it. Deku is surprised to see Nana, and she apologizes for being blocked. However, Deku says he’s glad to have her with him.
Nana says this is Shigaraki’s core, his origin — where they can hit him. It’s the only chance they’ll have to defeat him. Deku runs to press the doorbell, but Stain materializes, jumps on him, and puts two knives to his neck, as he did to Shigaraki in the Hosu arc.
Stain then turns into Re: Destro, who asks, “What do you stand for? What do you want to build?” like he asked Shigaraki in MVA. Destro then turns into Overhaul, who asks, “Do you have a plan?” just like he asked Shigaraki in the Shie Hassaikai arc.
Overhaul asks, “Do you have a plan?” Deku replies, “No! Now get out of my way”. He runs away and opens the door, but it turns into a photo of Nana and baby Kotarou while we hear the conversation between Hana and Tenko. Nana sees the picture and gets teary-eyed.
Deku walks through the door and sees Kotarou beating his son, but Tenko is represented as a black silhouette. Nana starts crying, and Deku runs toward them but is blocked by Shigaraki’s rejection. Kotarou says that their grandmother is a demon who abandoned her son.
Nana thinks this isn’t true, that she was forced to leave him behind. She realizes that the wound she left on Kotarou hurt Shigaraki too and blames herself for not being strong enough to defeat AFO and return for her son.
She falls to the ground but realizes she has to do something, so she wipes away her tears. “I’m sorry, Kotarou, for being such a weak mother. I’m sorry I never came back.” The two break through the invisible barrier — Deku jumps towards Tenko, and Nana hugs Kotarou.
With that, Nana finally gets transferred to Shigaraki. Her last thought is “It was all grandma’s fault…”. The scene changes, and Tenko is no longer just a silhouette. Now he’s crying in the backyard and starts decaying Mon while Deku watches—end of the chapter.
3. Chapter 417 Speculation
As Deku continues his attacks, Shigaraki goes into full defensive mode to prevent One For All’s transfer. Moreover, live broadcasts have also recovered so the world can see the final battle. The medical units of the Hero Association have also been dispatched, so Uraraka and Shoto will hopefully be fixed soon.
I. Deku Sees Tenko’s Past
The final panel of this chapter hints at Tenko’s childhood home and Deku witnessing it in a vision. The attacks against Shigaraki’s body have likely exposed his deeply hidden memories. Deku will likely see Tenko’s childhood, the evolution of his powers, and the murder of his family. This memory is vital for Deku to truly understand Shigaraki’s current personality and the trauma he faced as a child.
II. All For One Vestige Awakens
Even though All For One has been destroyed by Bakugo, a vestige of him remains inside Shigaraki. Since all vestiges are essentially the quirk itself, the All For One vestige may make a last-ditch effort to take over Shigaraki’s body. Especially if Deku truly manages to awaken Tenko from within Shigaraki’s memories.
4. Chapter 416 Recap
Shigaraki conceals himself in a massive shield of hands to prevent Deku from transferring more of One For All. Eri tries to run from the evacuation center but stops at the door. Ectoplasm tells Eri that Deku is too far away for her even to reach him in time.
The evacuation system became unstable after the fight with Dabi, Gigantomachia, and All For One. Moreover, Ectoplasm notices that Eri does not have enough energy stored to use Rewind. Ectoplasm convinces Eri that all she can do at the moment is believe in Deku.
Kota holds Eri’s hand and tells her that he knows exactly what she’s feeling. The entire world watches Deku’s fight live and knows they can do nothing but put their hopes in the U.A.’s savior. Kaminari talks with Momo about the shonen trope, where the side characters say, “It’s fine now,” when the main character takes on the final boss.
Kaminari still doesn’t feel like everything is fine and is afraid that his worry could mean that he doesn’t trust Deku. Uraraka gets carried by a helicopter as multiple rescue units scout the battlefield’s remains. Lady Nagant talks with Rock Lock about Deku.
Nagant says that Deku does the exact thing that evildoers hate the most. Deku makes villains lose the will to fight instead of just defeating them. Deku chooses to save his villains rather than destroy them, which is why everyone roots for him so easily.
Shigaraki shouts at Deku to stay away while he continues fighting, desperate to reach Tenko. Before Deku lands his final punch, Tenko’s childhood house appears in front of him.
