My Hero Academia Ch 414 Raw Scans, Spoilers: Deku Readies to Transfer the Next OFA Quirk

Chapter 413 of ‘My Hero Academia’ is titled “Lump of Lead.” In this episode, Kudo comes up with a plan to defeat Shigaraki.

Star and Stripe points to the crack within Shigaraki’s conscience to All Might. Kudo has seen the black lump of hatred and rage that makes Shigaraki’s willpower, but it has a crack. Yagi points out the weakness in Shigaraki’s mental state that Star and Stripe inflicted.

Kudo tells Izuku to let go of One For All so that the vestiges can launch an attack from the inside. Shigaraki will not be able to use the quirk if everything goes well.

Deku decides to give One for All to Shigaraki in chapter 414 of My Hero Academia titled, “Overlay.”

Banjo is impressed by Deku’s use of Black Whips. En is shocked by Deku’s quick learning. One for All can be transferred only if Deku consents. He plans to transfer it by dropping his blood into Shigaraki’s wound.

However, Shigaraki’s quick healing ability poses trouble for this transfer to take place. Deku has only one chance to do it as he slowly loses consciousness because of Gearshift recoil. 

Shigaraki has a bad feeling about what Deku might do next. He decides to focus on only destroying everything in his way. Deku uses a cunning strategy to trap Shigaraki. 

He gets closer to Shigaraki by the use of smoke. Tomura’s body starts turning into “finger armor” form. Deku transfers Gearshift by punching Shigaraki’s chest. 

Kudou’s vestige hits Shigaraki’s inner world. Now, a series of flashbacks start taking place. Deku sees the flashes of time when Shigaraki met Toga and Dabi for the first time. 

With a series of flashbacks, Deku and Shigaraki’s memories start blending together. En tells Ninth to keep attacking, and Deku prepares to transfer the next One for All quirk as the chapter reaches its end.

3. Chapter 414 Speculation

Deku has come to terms with what he must do and is willing to give up One For All for this battle. Shigaraki does not know the plan yet and will likely try to kill Deku as usual. However, once Shigaraki takes Gear Shift from Deku, the attack from the inside will begin.

I. Shigaraki Takes Gear Shift

As Kudo has planned, Shigaraki will likely take the Gear Shift quirk in the next chapter. Kudo’s internal attack will go unnoticed by Shigaraki in the start. However, if Shigaraki can use Gear Shift, Deku will be in big trouble. Without Danger Sense and Gear Shift, Deku loses many of his defensive abilities.

Black Whip is the only powerful ability Deku can use for his safety. Deku also has Smokescreen to stall time while Kudo tries cooperating with the other One For All users to target the crack in Shigaraki’s conscience.

II. En Goes First

En has been begging Kudo to go first instead, and he may let him go. Since Kudo’s death would mark the end of the battle, En is a safer option to go first. If Kudo’s theory is correct, Smokescreen could start spewing uncontrollably from Shigaraki, and Deku could get time to recover. 

Moreover, En could talk to Shinomori from within Shigaraki, and Danger Sense could randomly start going off. This could completely overwhelm Shigaraki’s brain and disadvantage Deku considerably.

One For All and All For One begin resonating, creating visions in All Might’s head. All Might wakes up and tries to get a report on Midoriya’s battle. All Might feels the power of One For All becoming frayed and the ancestors’ will flowing through him.

As Shigaraki continues fighting Midoriya, he sees a vision of Star and Stripe for a split second. Shigaraki notices an ember of Star and Stripe that continues after her death. Midoriya talks to the Second User, who tells him to let go of One For All. Inside Shigaraki lies a black lump, representing his rage and frustrations.

His hatred and memories have clumped up, and his willpower has become solid rage. However, Yagi had found a crack in the lump where a sad little child lived. Kudo tells Deku that Shigaraki can no longer be defeated with brute strength after absorbing All For One’s consciousness.

The only way for Deku to win this battle is by targeting his mental wound. Once Deku transfers One For All to Shigaraki, they can go after the crack in his willpower. Kudo tells Deku to pass One For All with such strength and harshness that it deals damage to Shigaraki’s mental state.

Kudo is confident that Deku can shatter the quirk factor if he uses the right amount of strength. Kudo wants to lead by example and be the first to leave. Deku cannot move because of Gear Shift, so transferring Kudo first is the best idea. Even if Shigaraki uses Gear Shift, he must deal with its exhaustion.

Nana knows Deku isn’t conflicted because he’s power-hungry or afraid of death. Deku is hesitant because even though he knows what he must do, One For All is a treasure he received from his idol. Kudo tells Banjo to stay by Deku’s side and prepares to leave his body. As Shigaraki approaches Deku, his body contorts in rage, with Black Whip sprouting from his spine. No villain has ever looked so scary as Deku in this moment.
