My Hero Academia Ch 413 Raw Scans, Spoilers: Deku Vs. Shigaraki Continues

Chapter 412 of ‘My Hero Academia’ is titled “History’s Craziest Hero.” In this chapter, Deku struggles to ward off Shigaraki’s Decay.

Shigaraki is intent on killing both Deku and destroying Mt. Fuji. Although his opponent is prepared to fight to the death, Deku only wants to save Shigaraki. After Deku saw the crying child within Shigaraki, he is wholly determined to save him instead of killing him.

The voices within One For All, including Nana and the Second, wanted Deku to give up on saving Shigaraki. However, All Might points out what Deku sees in the rest of the vestiges.

Deku will delve deep into Tomura’s psychology in chapter 413, titled “Lump of Lead.”

The chapter begins with a flashback where we see Star/New Order’s final moments inside the AFO vestiges. While she is fighting other quirks, she notices a small child through a crack. 

All Might wakes up. Edgeshot tells him to be awake, or he will die. All Might tells Edgeshot that he was seeing visions like the ones he saw in the hospital after the war. He cannot grasp what is happening, questioning whether One for All is getting frayed. 

The scene moves to the fight between Deku and Tomura. Tomura is confused after seeing a vision of Star. He thinks it is the ember of Star’s flame he witnessed. 

Deku gets into a conversation with Kudou. The latter tells him that the lump of lead in Tomura that represented all the anger, frustration, and resentment solidified and became an impenetrable layer of hatred. 

However, a “mental wound” opened in his consciousness during his fight with Star. A quirk can’t cure this wound, so they will have to destroy Tomura from the inside. 

Kudou suggests that transferring One for All to Shigaraki will increase the wound’s size, but En disagrees with this plan. Kudou still wants to try this strategy out but with a different approach. 

He is ready to volunteer and transfer some of OFA’s quirk factors. En and Bruce are against the idea of Kudou being the volunteer. Kudou says that he wants to believe the boy who has not given up on saving a heart. 

Numerous black whips attack Tomura at once, ripping off his arm. Tomura looks at Deku, whose whole body is covered with black whips, and comments that he doubts Deku is a hero. 

3. Chapter 413 Speculation

Deku struggles to continue fighting while simultaneously trying to save Shigaraki’s inner child. Meanwhile, Shigaraki is determined to destroy Deku and Mt. Fuji using his Decay ability. As Deku nearly reaches his limit, the vestiges are talking to him.

I. Kurogiri and Aizawa Appear

The current main unresolved plot point is Kurogiri, Aizawa, Present Mic, and Sero’s big moment, which Horikoshi teased. As Deku nearly reaches his limit in this fight with no help, Kurogiri will likely warp in with the others. However, even if they do warp in, Shigaraki is on a different scale of strength and will likely easily defeat people like Sero. Therefore, Sero and Aizawa can only give Deku some temporary time to rest and organize himself while they distract Shigaraki.

II. Shigaraki Takes One For All

Since the chapter ended with All Might telling Deku to give up One For All, Deku will likely do that in the next chapter. Shigaraki has the advantage in dragging this fight out, as Deku will slowly lose his quirks. However, if Deku purposefully gives One For All to Shigaraki, they may be able to fight him from the inside. With the determination and power of all the vestiges within One For All, they could save Tenko.

Deku realizes that he subconsciously contracted his muscles while defending himself with Black Whip. Deku uses Maximum Fa Jin with Wind Pressure to attack Shigaraki without getting close. The resulting Delaware Smash blows away the ground that Shigaraki used Decay on and reduces its range.

Shigaraki needs to touch the ground again to inflict Decay, but the dust cloud blocks his view. Under the cover of the dust, Deku uses Black Whip and Gearshift to overwhelm Shigaraki’s Danger Sense. Fa Jin is also building up this time, and Shigaraki uses Search. 

Due to Gear Shift’s recoil, Shigaraki senses that Deku can no longer breathe. Shigaraki tells Deku that the little crying boy he saw had stopped crying long ago. Shigaraki had changed his worldview and become the person he is now. In Deku’s mind, the Nana tells him to give up and kill Shigaraki.

However, Deku says that it’s not that easy to decide. The pain from the past still bothers Shigaraki this entire time. Deku refuses to stop fighting until Shigaraki stops hiding his pain. The Second user realizes the extent of Deku’s determination to save everyone. Whether it is someone he should hate or even a quirk less boy, Deku always believed in them.

The Secon had initially opposed Deku’s ideals and his wish to save Shigaraki. Originally, Izuku came across as a peace-seeking fool who just wanted a pacifist outcome. But after looking into Deku’s memories, the Second now understands his heart.

While watching the Ninth user fight for Shigaraki’s sake, All Might’s hand points to the inner child within. The Second sees what Deku saw and understands what he is fighting for. All Might talks to Deku, saying he must let go of One For All.
