This is his last attempt since if this doesn’t go to plan, they’re dead for sure. Soshiro teleports in the blink of an eye and appears before the beast. He unsheathes the sword to create an opening and slices through the Monster’s chest.

The only way he can create an opening to attack its core is by hitting it with a move it could never anticipate. Soshiro spouts a tail with a sword, which cuts off its arm while it attacks. He follows it up by slicing off the other arm and leg.

After creating an opening to attack, he uses the Eight-Fold Slasher with his three blades. Even though he pulled it off perfectly, it still isn’t enough to take it down. Soshiro isn’t finished with his attack yet and reveals Number Seven, a high-speed 12-hit attack to his core.

The final attack would pierce perfectly through the core, but the Monster blocks it with his tail. However, this was all part of Soshiro’s plan. His tail detaches from his body and flies around the beast, stabbing it through its core from behind.

With the final attack piercing its neck and vital points, Soshiro announces his victory.

Kaiju No. 8 or Monster #8 is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Naoya Matsumoto. It has been serialized for free on Shueisha’s Shōnen Jump+ from July 2020.

In Japan, creatures are known as kaiju frequently attack the nation with the Japanese Defense Force in charge of dealing with and killing them.
