Well, not really. #10 comes out to be the hero of the chapter as he lit up the chapter with his enthusiasm and thrill for the fight. Hoshina was at a complete disadvantage in this chapter.

He got brutally thrown away with one slash. As he was about to get up, #12 sliced his arm, but it turned out to be #10’s tail. #10 went full motivational speaker mode and pushed Hoshina to fight back again.

#10 and Hoshina will wreak havoc and destroy #12 in chapter 92 of Kaiju No. 8.

We all know where the fight will head from here on. The previous chapter showed up as a shocker. Hoshina was about to die, but #10 saved the day. Still, I think a lethal or grave injury suffered by Hoshina would have added some fun to it.

Hoshina will find a different way of dealing with #12 now. It will be interesting if #10 brings in some new tactic to defeat the enemy. I think this battle won’t go on for long and will probably end in the next chapter. (I hope it does).

The chapter starts with a flashback of Hoshina’s past, where he is training with his elder brother. He gets beaten easily but demands a rematch which his brother refuses.

His brother mocks him, telling him he will never defeat him. Hoshina swears he will become stronger than his brother. Back in the present, Hoshina takes a major blow from #12.

Still, he refuses to accept defeat and tries to get back up. However, he is too late as #12 already took his stance and slashes Hoshina. He tries to get back up and grab his sword but finds his hand cut off.   

 

Hoshina gives up all hope. He is reminded of his brother and how he was always told to give up. Despite giving up, he finds that he still wants to get up and fight and doesn’t want to die like this.

Suddenly, he wakes up from his slumber with a loud, roaring laugh from #10. He tells Hoshina that he just saved him and asks for his thanks. Hoshina realizes that he hasn’t lost his arm, and #10 has sacrificed his tail for Hoshina.

#10 asks Hoshina what his next move will be. Hoshina doesn’t see any chance of winning the battle, but #10 starts motivating him to fight back again. 

#10 is the fist, and Hoshina is the sword. As long as they are together, they can do whatever they want and have a little fun.

Kaiju No. 8 or Monster #8 is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Naoya Matsumoto. It has been serialized for free on Shueisha’s Shōnen Jump+ from July 2020.

In Japan, creatures are known as kaiju frequently attack the nation with the Japanese Defense Force in charge of dealing with and killing them.

Childhood friends Kafka Hibino and Mina Ashiro vow to become members of the Defense Force after a kaiju destroys their home. Mina becomes a famous commander of the Force while Kafka fails the exam multiple times and becomes a monster sweeper, those in charge of cleaning up a monster’s dead body.

One day a small talking kaiju enters his body through his mouth and he can now turn into a Kaiju himself. This is dubbed “Kaiju No. 8” by the Defense Force.
