3. Chapter 11 Speculation
Sojo has successfully escaped with Char, and Chihiro is devastated. However, Chihiro is not in a condition to fight at all. He must recover if he wants to rescue Char and kill Sojo. We don’t know if Hinao is alive or not. We might find out more about their conditions.
Azami and Shiba, alongside the rest of the Kamunabi, will have to take care of the mess Chihiro and Sojo’s battle left. They might also go to rescue Char. The auction will still happen, so we might find out more about the reason behind that. The motive behind Char’s kidnapping is revealed as well, so we might see how they plan on executing it.
4. Chapter 10 Recap
Chapter 10, titled “Swift,” begins with Chihiro calling on Nishiki. He is barely standing, but he cannot afford to waste time. Nishiki imbues physical attack with dense spirit energy, but it also takes a lot of energy out of the wielder. Chihiro stands up with a lot of effort, but Sojo is not deterred.
Sojo has only had Cloud Gouger for a week. He realizes he needs more time to master it. While Cloud Gouger is charging up, Sojo starts talking about Chihiro’s motives. He thinks wielding enchanted katanas for such an altruistic purpose is not what Rokuhira wants.
Chihiro gets angry at Sojo, talking about Rokuhira’s purpose as if he knows anything. He yells at Sojo not to talk about his father, revealing his connection with Rokuhira to Sojo. Chihiro immediately launches an attack, which Sojo dodges. Sojo notes that Chihiro’s power has increased.
Sojo attacks with Ketsu, but Chihiro gracefully maneuvers through it. However, Sojo finds Chihiro’s blind spot, but Chihiro dodges easily, managing to graze Sojo’s cheek. Sojo notices how Chihiro not only dodged his attack at full speed but also managed to counterattack.
As the battle gets more heated, Chihiro notices Char’s leg in a car. Chihiro realizes that he might have been too short-sighted. He did not consider that Sojo might have outside help. As Chihiro takes off after the car to save Char, Sojo goes to attack him, but he is stopped by the Kamunabi.
Five members of the elite force, as well as Azami and Shiba, have surrounded him. Sojo cannot take them all, so he decides to escape. Chihiro beheads the captors in the car and reaches out for Char. However, he is stunned to find only Char’s leg.
Sojo tricked him and escaped. Chihiro is furious. He pulls out the driver, who reveals that Sojo’s order was to confuse Chihiro so they can take Char away. Chihiro asks about Hinao’s whereabouts, but all he gets as an answer is ominous laughter. Chihiro blames himself for this failure.
Sojo joins the rest of his gang, and they have Char captive. The reason behind Char’s kidnapping is revealed. They are going to use her regeneration to surpass Rokuhira. Sojo still has a lot of questions for Chihiro, and Chihiro is determined to cut Sojo down.
