The start of chapter 245 gave fans a thread of hope, but the ending took that away again. We see Hakari fight against Uraume. He’s in his jackpot state, which makes him practically immortal. Uraume’s attacks have no effect on him. Uraume admits that his regeneration abilities are superior even to Sukuna himself. She says that she no longer perceives Hakari as a human and thus will fight him with everything she has.
In Higuruma’s domain, after just a short while, Sukuna receives the punishment of confiscation followed by the death sentence. Sukuna grins as he realizes his assumptions about Judgeman’s working mechanism were right all along. The domain is undone, and Sukuna is exposed to the Jujutsu high sorcerers and Higuruma with the executioner’s sword. But disaster struck as they realized that “Confiscation” banned Sukuna’s cursed tool from being used instead of his technique.

2. Chapter 246 Raw Scans, Leaks
According to the spoilers, Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 246 is titled “Inhuman Makyo Shinjuku Showdown, Part 17.” The chapter begins with Yuji and Kusakabe trying to save Higuruma from Sukuna’s Slashes.
Kusakabe deduces that not all of Sukuna’s slashes are “the Slash that Divides the World. There are mainly two types of slashes: regular slash, which activates on touching the target, and Cleave, the slash that changes based on the strength of the opponent.
“The Slash that Divides the World” is an extended version of Cleave. Any version of Cleave and a direct Dismantle will be impossible to dodge or subvert, even using defensive techniques.
Kusakabe deduces that Sukuna is not using his Fire Technique primarily because he cannot do so. Higuruma apologizes for Judgeman not confiscating Sukuna’s cursed technique, but Kusakabe says only Kamutoke is enough.
He vows to protect Higuruma even if it means he will die here, which Sukuna finds entertaining. He then easily evades and heavily injures the Death Painting.
Yuji, Ino, Kusakabe, and Higuruma simultaneously attack Sukuna, who seems impressed with their individual and collective growth. However, this pushes Higuruma away from Kusakabe and Yuji, who scramble towards him, and Sukuna targets the Lawyer.
The chapter then shifts to Higuruma explaining that the Executioner’s Sword only affects the soul recognized by Judgeman as Guilty. Yuji’s previous trial indicated that only Sukuna would be identified in this case, leaving Megumi’s soul unharmed.
Yuji pointed out that Higuruma could not use the Reversed Cursed technique, and since he was put in the position to fight Sukuna directly, he would likely die. Higuruma stated that he could no longer turn back and would like to atone for the deaths he caused in the Culling Game.
The chapter returns to the present, where Sukuna outpaces Yuji and levels a dismantle at Higuruma, who uses Domain Amplification. Sukuna is impressed at his growth in just two months of becoming a Sorcerer and thinks that Higuruma will be the one to match Gojo’s potential.
3. Chapter 246 Speculation
I. Higuruma’s Death is Pretty Much Inevitable
The author, Gege Akutami, tends to foreshadow a character’s death a few chapters before it actually happens. In chapter 245, he foreshadowed Higuruma’s death, so his loss against Sukuna seems pretty much unshakable now. The possibility he saw of winning was nothing but a mirage in this ocean of losses. This hope made them use such a reckless move.
Seeing the situation on the battlefield right now, Higuruma might not be the only one to die since Sukuna’s technique has a wide range of effects, and Choso, Kusakabe, and Ino are all inside that range. At the end of chapter 245, Kusakabe and Higuruma get hit by his slashes, but how powerful those attacks were is still unknown. There is a slight possibility that one of the four characters there dies to protect Higuruma and the executioner’s sword.
II. Yuta’s Fate
It has been a couple of chapters after Yuta defeated Kenjaku. Even though it is unclear exactly how the fight against Sukuna aligns with the fight against Kenjaku, Yuta has not yet returned to regroup with the others. Before dying, Kenjaku said his will was going to be inherited. Knowing his powers to take over someone’s body really makes a fan worry about Yuta’s well-being.
We don’t know if Kenjaku requires a dead body to take over or if a living body works, too, so Yuta can potentially be in trouble if he lets his guard down.
4. Chapter 245 Recap
While Sukuna is trapped in Higuruma’s domain alongside Yuji, the point of view switches to Hakaro and Uraume’s fight. The two fight fiercely as Hakari is still in his jackpot state. Uraume uses “Frost Calm”, which is basically the essence of Ice formation, the purest form of the attack.’
The attack instantly freezes one side of Hakari’s body, and Uraume shatters that part with a punch. Thinking that Hakari is done for, she charges him with all her force, but little does she know about Hakari’s regenerative powers. He regenerates his arm in the blink of an eye and punches Uraume in the face, launching her away.
This time, Hakari charges her, but Uraume uses an icicle attack to delay him. The attack injures Hakari, but once again, due to his super-fast RCT (Reverse Curse Technique), it doesn’t stop him one bit. Uraume is surprised and agrees that his regeneration is far superior to Gojo Satoru and even Sukuna.
She proclaims that Hakari is different than the sorcerers of this age. Most sorcerers don’t use their powers to their full extent to retain their humanity. They do so because they are scared of Alienation, but Hakari has no restraints like that. So now Uraume doesn’t consider him a human anymore and will fight with everything she has.
We return to Sukuna’s trial, where Higuruma protects Yuji from the charges presented against him, the last time the domain was used, and declares that Sukuna was the one behind the crimes. He starts to explain how Judgeman and the domain work, but Sukuna tells him to cut it short since he already knows all this, as he had listened to everything while he was inside Yuji.
Just as he finishes talking, Judgeman gives the “Guilty” verdict to him and punishes him with confiscation and the death penalty. Sukuna grins after he realizes his assumptions are right as his cursed tool disappears due to the confiscation punishment.
The domain is undone, and Kusakabe, Choso, and Ino jump into the battlefield to make the most of this opportunity, thinking Sukuna is helpless now. The executioner’s sword appears in Higuruma’s hand, but something scary happens. We see one single panel saying, “Do you want to die, Higuruma?”. This panel is scary to every Jujutsu Kaisen fan because it essentially foreshadows a character’s death.
At that moment, Higuruma realizes that the chance of success he was seeing was nothing but a sham. It was never there, just a mere illusion. If the one being punished by Judgeman possesses a cursed tool, then the cursed tool gets confiscated instead of the cursed technique. Before Higuruma could react to this realization, Sukuna unleashes his technique.
