All the chapters that showed us the fight between Takaba and Kenjaku were full of elements that didn’t make any sense, but chapter 243 was the most nonsensical of them all. After holding Kenjaku off for a long time, it was the end for Takaba, who had already become a fan favorite.
But Yuta arrives at the perfect moment and severs ghetto’s head from his body, rendering Kenjaku powerless. The reverse cursed technique cannot be used to heal the body since Yuta beheaded it. The only chance at Kenjaku’s survival is if he takes over someone else’s body.
1. Chapter 244 Release Date

No, Jujutsu Kaisen is not on a break this week. Chapter 244 has not been delayed and will be released on the above-stated date.
2. Chapter 244 Raw Scans, Leaks
The raw scans for Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 244 have been released.
According to the leaks, chapter 244 begins with a flashback. In the flashback, we see that everything that has happened until now in the battle was planned by Kusakbe beforehand. He had already decided what to do in case both Gojo and Kashimo lost.
This point of view switch from Yuta vs. Kenjaku to Yuji vs. Sukuna was expected now that Yuta took care of him for the time being. Kusakbe left Miwa and Kamo out of the equation since Miwa can’t use her katana anymore due to a binding vow back in Shibuya, and Kamo thinks his ability won’t be much use.
Since sorcerers would probably be fine even if the merger happens, Kusakabe said it’s okay to leave the fight if someone is unwilling to die or doesn’t have reverse cursed technique. Yuji thanks Kamo for his notes on blood manipulation, which may be a hint that Yuji also gained those powers.
Higurama tells Kusakabe that he can use his domain expansion and make “Judgeman” give Sukuna the death penalty and fight him with the executioner’s sword. Kusakabe denies this since Higuruma cannot decide which crime Judgeman would try Sukuna for.
The point of view moves back to the battle arena where Sukuna has destroyed Mei Mei’s crows. Higuruma destroys Sukuna’s stance and binds his weapon, Kamutoke. Yuji sends debris flying towards Sukuna, landing a punch loaded with his cursed energy.
Higurama quickly opens his domain, “Deadly Sentencing”, but Judgeman picks up his trial of Yuji from their last fight. Higurama defends him saying that Sukuna is the true criminal here, and thus, Sukuna’s trial begins.
According to the Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 244 spoilers, there will be a break next week, and chapter 245 will be released as planned in Weekly Shonen Jump issue 3.
3. Chapter 244 Speculation
I. Kenjaku’s Will will be carried on?
Before dying at the end of chapter 243, Kenjaku states one concerning statement. He tells Yuta that his ‘will’ will be carried on. Now the question what exactly did he mean by this? Was he talking about just his wishes and ideals? Knowing what Kenjaku’s cursed technique is, it’s very possible he will just take over someone else’s body.
He can’t use Suguru Geto’s body anymore since it’s impossible to use the reverse cursed technique on it now. But in that case, whose body is it going to be? We can check off Gojo Satoru’s body since if RCT could be used on it then Gojo would do it himself. The only contender for this so far is Takaba’s body. If Kenjaku successfully takes over Takaba’s body, it’ll be a big problem for the jujutsu sorcerers.
II. Yuji vs Sukuna
We know all of this was happening after the death of Gojo Satoru. So, while Kenjaku was busy here with Takaba, Yuji, and Higurama were fighting Sukuna on the battlefield. After showing him at the end of chapter 238, we got no further information about them. What happened to Yuji’s hand is still a mystery, so the focus might as well shift to them now in order to give Kenjaku a bit of off-screen time to prepare his next plan.
4. Chapter 243 Recap
Chapter 243 picks off from where the previous chapter ended. Kenjaku and Takaba are seen on a stage in suits. Kenjaku starts the conversation by asking him if he’s free on Wednesday. Tkaba replies that he’s free unless Kenny needs help in moving.
Next, Kenjaku introduces themselves to the crowd as Pinchan, short for Pinch and Chance. Throughout the chapter, one thing that draws attention is their facial expressions. As they are on the stage as a duo of comedians, how they make the people laugh matters a lot. Takaba asks him if he knows the story of Momotaro. But Kenjaku declines, saying his dad wasn’t around and his ma was busy.
Another thing that cannot be ignored is that they weren’t having a normal conversation. With each new statement, they argued with each other with the funniest expressions possible, and the audience seemed to enjoy it very much.
Suddenly, they start acting like Momotaro and the old man. Takaba, playing the old man, offers Kenjaku, who’s playing the role of Momotaro, a dumpling. But Kenjaku says he is allergic to food made by hand. But he’s forced to take the dumpling from him.
The topic suddenly switches to a dog, a golden retriever, to be more accurate. Takaba asks kenjaku to make it into a Japanese breed cause it’s too jarring. Just when Kenny is going to offer a dumpling to the dog, he asks Takaba if it’s ok to feed the dog a dumpling.
Kenjaku finds a number on the dog’s collar and calls the owner, but the conversations from now on become more nonsensical and reach a point where one statement has no connection to the next statement.
Takaba suddenly goes silent between all this. Kenjaku asks him what’s wrong, but Takaba replies that he just realized this has to end. He says it’s his dream performance. The fans don’t know what comedy is, but they’re still adorable to him. Kenjaku tells him not to cry since it’ll kill the mood.
The next panel features Takaab in a white robe, lying on te ground. He simply thanks Kenjaku before closing his eyes for the last time and passes on with a smile. Kenjaku also laughs at him one last time, saying he really cracked him up.
But surprise, surprise, just when Takaba died, and fans lost hope once again, the person once expected to be the next Gojo Satoru, Yuta Okkotsu, came into the picture. As he attacks Kenjaku from behind, Kenny activates ‘Cursed Technique Reversal: Antigravity’ as a defensive measure.
Yuta proves himself faster as he beheads Kenjaku before his technique can take effect. Kenjaku then realizes why he could not feel Yuta’s presence at all. It was because he did not want to. Yuta tells him this was the plan since Takaba would never kill anyone. Before Kenjaku dies, the chapter ends with one concerning sentence. Kenjaku relays the message that his will is going to be carried on.
