Chapter 242 was more chaotic than the last few chapters. Takaba fights Kenjaku with everything he has as the stage for the battle changes with every panel of the manga. Kenjaku realises that Takaba’s cursed technique isn’t just manifesting stuff and controlling his body but also directly affecting his thoughts.
Takaba pushes Kenjaku to such a limit that he’s forced to think he might lose at this rate. Proving the power of his technique without even knowing it properly, Takaba has somewhat cornered the man who had planned everything so far. The following chapter might show us the climax of this battle, but till then, here’s everything you need to know –

No, Jujutsu Kaisen is not on a break this week. Chapter 243 is not delayed and will be released on the above-stated date.
2. Chapter 243 Raw Scans, Leaks
The raw scans for Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 243 have been released.
Chapter 242 of Jujutsu Kaisen begins with Takaba and Kenjaku’s stage comedy. Takaba insults Kenjaku by saying he did not have a dad and that his mother was too busy, so he became an attention seeker.
Then, they proceed to make Grandma jokes. Suddenly, the atmosphere changes as both Takaba & Kenjaku go silent. Kenjaku asks Takaba what is wrong. Takaba replies that it is almost over and gets sentimental by saying this is his dream stage.
Takaba starts crying again as he says he doesn’t want this to end. Kenjaku consoles him. Takaba pats on Kenjaku, and the illusion ends. Back to reality, we see Takaba in white robes as he says “Thank you” to Kenjaku.
But all of a sudden, Yuta appears and slashes Kenjaku’s throat. As Kenjaku’s head gets severed, he wonders how he overlooked Yuta & his high cursed energy output.
And then he realizes it was Takaba’s doing. Kenjaku’s head rolls off from his body & he asks Yuta if this was the plan. Yuta confirms this was the plan since Takaba can’t kill people.
Kenjaku says it’s a shame because he was almost there. But Kenjaku says that his desire will be inherited. The chapter ends, and there is no break next week.
3. Chapter 243 Speculation
I. The climax of Kenjaku vs. Takaba
At the end of chapter 242, Kenjaku decides to take the fight seriously. It pretty much declares that the climax of this long battle is nearing its end. The battle has always been more comedic than serious action. This time, the fight takes a different turn as the two appear to be on a stage with a lot of people in front of them.
This chapter makes readers wonder what kind of a showdown we are waiting for. Of course, the question “Who will win?” will be answered when this fight ends. Even after fighting Kenjaku for so long, Takaba doesn’t seem to have realized the nature of his cursed technique, or has he learned it already and is purposefully hiding the fact from him?
II. Is Takaba going to die?
Our beloved comedian Takaba may be in grave danger as Kenjaku decides to switch up tactics. This time, the place transforms into a theatre rather than stage filled with people watching them.
Takaba has held Kenjaku back for a long time, and knowing Gege Akutami, his life seems very much in danger now. Will he die or pull out some completely unexpected hidden card from his comedian’s magic pocket? To get the answers to all the questions, we must wait until chapter 243 drops.
4. Chapter 242 Recap
The battle between Fumihiko Takaba, the comedian, and Kenjaku, the mastermind behind the culling games, continues. Using Geto’s curse manipulation, Kenjaku summons a special-grade cursed spirit, which will make most sorcerers run for their lives. But it’s no match against Takaba’s truck-kun, which crushes the curse as soon as it is summoned.
This chapter was particularly a bit more chaotic than the previous ones as the fight scenario was changing with every panel. We even get to see the two as doctors trying to save the life of a fish. But instead of using the equipment on the fish, Kenjaku uses it to give Takaba an electric shock.
We even see Kenjaku (or Geto?) in a nurse’s outfit. I don’t know if we can call it a little fanservice attempt from Gege, but it caught almost every reader’s eye. The scenario quickly changes again as they decide to play rock, paper, scissors but start dancing instead.
Next, they both get into a quiz show where Kenjaku starts to get ahead of Takaba. Between all this, for some reason, they both start running, and Takaba runs to save a cat, which makes no sense, but then again, that is the theme of the fight. The cat turns out to be Kenjaku, and Takaba gets hit by a car.
But right after this, something concerning happens. Kenjaku makes a bold statement, saying that if things continue at this rate, he will lose. For Takaba, all these are mere simulations, but the damage he takes is real and is starting to take a toll on him.
Kenjaku decides not to joke around about this anymore since it won’t stop until Takaba’s desire for laughs hasn’t been satisfied. To the readers’ complete surprise, in the last panel, the stage changes again, but in Kenjaku’s favor this time, which surprises Takaba as well.
