Re: Zero Season 2 Episode 33: Release Date, Discussion, Watch Online

We begin the second season of the anime Re: Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu. Season 2 will continue the story from the end of season 1.

After using Return by Death for the third time, Subaru was caught into another mess with Ryuzu and Garfiel treating him like Emilia’s enemy because they have caught Witch’s scent on him! 

Garfiel charges like a raging beast to attack Subaru. Will he escape the barrier or have to do another redo?

1. Episode 33 Release Date

Episode 33 of the Re: Zero Season 2 anime, for which the title has not been revealed yet will be released on Wednesday, August 26, 2020.  

In the next episode, Subaru and his friends overcome the odds to reach the Roswaal mansion! 

I. Is Re: Zero Season 2 on a Break This Week?

No, episode 33 of the Re: Zero Season 2 anime will be released as per its schedule; so far, no such delay is announced.

The anime comes out weekly every Wednesday.

2. Episode 33 Preview & Speculation

The preview for Episode 33 was not shown, nor the title revealed at the end of episode 32.

We are still speculating that Subaru will come up with a plan to escape the Sanctuary barrier with Otto and Ram! 

But the end cut in episode 32 has shown Garfiel finding out about Subaru’s jailbreak and will transform into a beast-like Frederica has done previously.

So not only does Subaru have to worry about reaching the Roswaal mansion before the assassins, but he and Ram will also have to fight with Garfiel in his beast form! 

We are set to find out more about Beatrice and her connection to the Witch’s Gospel, which she held so dear to herself.

Many questions have been raised after Beatrice was visibly shaken and conflicted when Subaru provoked her in the last episode. 

Who was this ‘mother’ Beatrice referred to, and why was she bent not to answer any of Subaru’s questions and to behave like a puppet to the book?

Subaru might learn new information about the ‘client’ who ordered the attack! 

With the mention of Maylie, it is sure Elsa was not working alone, and a new character, Maylie, could be introduced in the next episode!

The client in question knew specifications of Subaru’s original plan to visit, so we speculate it could be someone from the Sanctuary or someone spying on Subaru under the order from the Witch Cult? 

At the same time, Emilia’s trial will continue after failing multiple times.

We will get her backstory about why she was outcasted by the people around her and made to believe she was Satella.

3. Recap of Episode 32

I. Was our Friendship Fake?

Episode 32, titled “Friend,” begins with Subaru trying to break out from the mansion’s sacred library, but Beatrice tells him it was too late to save Rem.

Subaru bursts out at Betty for saving him and not the others. 

Betty stops Subaru from taking his life, and he finds the Witch Cult’s Gospel laying on the floor, which Betty holds dear to her and only does as was commanded in the book! 

When Subaru provokes her to tell him otherwise, Betty snaps back at him, telling him what she does was for her mother and a mere human like Subaru couldn’t move her heart, but her tears tell a different story. 

Elsa enters the library and kills Subaru again!

II. Restart Again!

Subaru dies and returns to the Sanctuary! He again wakes Emilia up, and they repeat the night as before.

Subaru tells Emilia to rest for the night and plans to ask Roswaal about Beatrice, but Otto calls him out for being unexpectedly calm with Emilia in the nervous state. 

After hearing him, Subaru thanks Otto for pointing out that he could reason even after the despair Subaru experienced. Garfiel comes to have a chat with Subaru this time before he could go to Roswaal.

They walk deep into the forest and meet Ryuzu to discuss how Frederica used to escape the Sanctuary without undergoing the trial. 

But Subaru learned such a method did not exist as Frederica did not meet the conditions to be tied down by the Sanctuary because she was a quarter mixed blood, and she and Garfiel had different fathers. 

III. Subaru Trapped

Subaru suggests this time he will get everyone on board with his plan to undergo the trial instead of Emilia and that he’s already passed the first trial.

Still, to his surprise, Ryuzu and Garfiel turn the tides and lock Subaru away because they had plans of their own for Emilia’s protection. 

Garfiel unties Subaru when he wakes up and tells him yelling for help wouldn’t save him as he was trapped in the part of the Sanctuary that no one was aware of, Subaru learns they were suspicious of him because he reeked of the Witch’s scent. 

After interrogating and expressing his dislike towards Subaru Garfiel leaves and at night, the villagers, along with Emilia and Ram, search for Subaru. 

IV. Otto to the Rescue! 

Subaru struggles to free himself and thinks back about what Beatrice said to him. Ryuzu feeds him and leaves while Subaru was tormented with the painful memories of the deaths he had seen before he returned by death. 

Otto comes to Subaru’s rescue and fills him on the details of the outside and of Emilia’s struggles to keep her composure without Subaru and her failure in the trial.

Subaru stares stunned after he learns Otto risked his life for Subaru and considered him as a friend. 

Then throws a fit of laughter after being touched by Otto’s sentiments, meanwhile acknowledges their friendship!

They escape and meet Ram in the forest!

The Re: Zero − Starting Life in Another World anime television is an adaptation of a light novel series written by Tappei Nagatsuki and illustrated by Shinichirou Otsuka.

The series is directed by Masaharu Watanabe and written by Masahiro Yokotani, with animation by the studio White Fox. Kyuta Sakai is serving as both character designer and as chief animation director. 

It follows the story of Subaru Natsuki, who is a NEET and does nothing but play games. One night, after visiting a convenience store, he is suddenly summoned to another world.

With no sign of who summoned him, he soon befriends a silver-haired half-elf girl named Emilia and her companion, Puck. 

The second season continues from where the story left off in the first.
