Resident Evil Village was released a while back, but it is still one of the most talked-about horror games currently. Not only is it getting robust support from the modding community, but official updates have also been consistent for the game.
The most recent one is adding performance improvements and allowing players to fine-tune the game with their preferred FidelityFX Super Resolution preferences.
The update came out today and is aiming to improve internal processing to optimize performance. Along with the ability to fine-tune the FSR settings, the update also brings several fixes for some minor, unspecified bugs.
Here are the full notes of the Resident Evil Village August 10th update
- Internal processing will be improved to optimize performance.
- Minor fine-tuning to FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR).
- Added general stability fixes.
- Other minor bug fixes.
Resident Evil Village had received several complaints regarding its performance on the PC just little over a month ago. This was brought to light when a cracked copy of the game, which did not have Capcom’s anti-tamper measures, was seen performing far better than the original copies.
While Capcom addressed the issue with a statement, the anti-tamper measures are still in place, and people are still facing performance issues.
Players have been turning to the modding community for answers regarding this, as modders have been very active with making additions and changes to the horror games. Not only did they add valuable settings such as a FOV slider, but they also made additions to make the game more terrifying, like combining Thomas the Tank Engine with Lady Dimitrescu.
We also have some DLC in the works for the game, so expect to get more content soon for those who felt the game was too short or just didn’t have enough.
We expect Capcom to keep releasing updates for Resident Evil Village for a while longer, especially given that people are still complaining about the performance on PC.
