Palace consorts have a notorious reputation for their jobs, yet the protagonist of ‘Raven of the Inner Palace’ has never been called upon by the emperor. Jusetsu lives her life in secrecy as even the royal guards are afraid of her.
Why is everyone scared of a simple concubine? Because she is rumored to have powers beyond one’s understanding. She deals with curses, lost objects, and the mystic. When the young king needs her help in the upcoming anime, can she disobey his orders?
The ‘Raven of the Inner Palace’ novel series will receive an anime adaptation that will premiere on October 1, 2022. A part of its first episode will be streamed on September 24 at the Aniplex Online Fest 2022.
A new trailer is also out, which portrays the first meeting between Jusetsu and the emperor, Koushun.
In the trailer, Koushun shows a piece of jade earring to Jusetsu to help him find the owner. The consort bluntly refuses the job despite living under his care.
Koushun asks her name and tries to reason with her, but Jusetsu isn’t easily moved. The video then goes on to introduce two other characters.

Jusetsu will eventually accept the king’s request. (How else do you expect the plot to progress otherwise?) As she investigates the earring, she will uncover a conspiracy against the king. The upcoming anime will also unveil the identity and legacy of the Raven Consort.
About Raven of the Inner Palace
Raven of the Inner Palace is a novel series by Koko Shirakawa, and it was launched in 2018. The novel’s final volume was shipped in 2021. It will also receive an anime.
The story focuses on Josetsu, a royal consort who has never been summoned to the king’s bed-chamber. No one knows what she looks like, and she has mystic powers.
One day, the king seeks her out to find the owner of a cursed earring. Their meeting will change the history of their kingdom.
