The staff of the anime film adaptation of Hajime Kamoshida’s Seishun Buta Yarō light novel series revealed that the first film in the series, Rascal Does Not Dream of a Sister Venturing Out, will release in Japanese theaters this summer.
The first batch of MoviTicke Cards for the film will go on sale on February 18 with bonus mini shikishi-style illustration cards drawn by the director and character designer.
On the same day, the main branch of the Animate store in Tokyo’s Akihabara district will distribute a postcard-sized Valentine illustration card. The cards will have a QR code on them which links to a special voice message by Mai Sakurajima.
The sequel anime project will adapt the eighth and ninth novels in the franchise.
The returning cast for the film includes Kaito Ishikawa as Sakuta Azusagawa, Asami Seto as Mai Sakurajima, Yurika Kubo as Kaede Azusagawa, Nao Tōyama as Tome Koga, Atsumi Tanezaki as Rio Futaba, Maaya Uchida as Nodoka Toyohama, and Inori Minase as Shōko Makinohara.
Sōichi Masui returns as director at CloverWorks. The series scripts and composition are being handled by Masahiro Yokotani, with Satomi Tamura returning as the character designer.
