The Raptor Lake series by Intel is a powerful range of PC desktop platforms featuring a Tiled Chips GPU architecture. There have been several questionable rumors surrounding the CPUs, even introducing a new socket interface.
A presentation slide featuring Intel’s Raptor Lake-S overview is being circulated on Chinese social media platforms.
The picture is from an Intel workshop conducted in Shenzhen, China. The primary agenda of the meeting was NAS products and roadmaps.
The Raptor Lake-S desktop series will support the DDR5-5600 memory type. Compared to Alder Lake, this is an increased speed.
However, it will also be compatible with DDR4-3200 memory as 600-series motherboards are compatible with the next-gen desktop range. The CPUs will simultaneously split the existing 16 PCIe Gen 5 lanes for storage and GPU.
Here are the rumored Raptor Lake-S specs:
CPU Node | Intel 7 |
Intel Core Series | 13th Gen Core |
Big Core Architecture | Raptor Cove |
Small Core Architecture | Gracemont |
Graphics | Xe – LP |
CPU Core Configuration | 24 (8C + 16c) |
GPU Core Count | 96 EU |
Socket Interface | LGA1700 |
Memory Support | DDR4-3200/DDR5-5600 |
CPU PCIe Lanes | 16x PCIe Gen 5 |
PCH PCIe Lanes | 4x PCIe Gen 4 |
Launch | Q4 2022 |
Intel is expected to launch the Raptor Lake series around October. There has been no official date released yet.
