Gear up, Anime fans, because the acclaimed work of Rumiko Takahashi is making a grand comeback this year. The romantic comedy anime Ranma ½ is all set to get an anime adaptation by Mappa Studio. The key visual and the trailer for the upcoming project were shared on 17 July 2024, along with the voice cast and staff information. The anime will be released on 5 October 2024 on NTV and Netflix.
Ranma ½ anime is based on the original Japanese manga series written by Rumiko Takahashi. It was published in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday from August 1987 to March 1996. It had a total of 38 volumes in circulation.

First Look at the Trailer
The stunning trailer by Mappa introduces the main characters with their voice actors and teases the intriguing storyline ahead. The short teaser starts with how Ranma, a martial artist, turns into a girl when splashed with cold water. He has a reluctant fiancée arranged by their respective families.
The simple life of Ranma is now about to get chaotic with the blizzard curse of his and his father, his equation with the Tendo sisters, and many more troubles that are about to come.

Plot of the Anime
Ranma Saotome, a 16-year-old heir to the ‘Anything Goes Martial Arts’ school, has spent his entire life training with his father. In one of his such endeavors, he and his father accidentally fall into the cursed spring of Jusenkyo. The victims of cursed springs are turned into whoever had drowned in that spring years ago when splashed with cold water. So Ranma transforms into a girl and his father into a Panda.
But problems don’t end here for Ranma as he has to accept his new fiancée, Akane, from Tendo Dojo, arranged by their parents before the incident. Now, Ranma has to navigate his new life with his curse form, a tomboy fiancée he doesn’t get along with, and a new set of characters sure to cause mayhem.
