2. Ranma 1/2 (2024) Episode 8 Recap

The latest episode of Ranma 1/2 began featuring Akane, who was at an ice skating ring with her friends. Amidst all the fun, she realized that she had lost P-chan (Ryouga). She panicked and went to Ranma for help, and later, they realized that a young woman had stolen him and named him Charlotte. At this point, a tall man showed up, took Ryouga, handed him over to Akane, and asked them to forgive his partner’s rudeness.

Later, it was revealed that the two were a very accomplished pair who performed freestyle skating at Kolkhoz High School. The woman, named Azusa Shiratori, challenged Akane to a match, demanding that Ryouga be returned if Akane were to lose. The man, Mikado Sanzenin, was a massive playboy and even tried to pick up Akane, which ticked Ranma off, so he threw a leftover fishcake on his face, which riled Mikado up, and so Ranma got challenged to a match as well.

On the subsequent day, when Ranma (in his female form) and Akane were practicing, Mikado and Azusa showed up as well, and both of them acted quite obnoxiously toward Ranma and Akane. Ranma couldn’t stand on his two feet in the ice ring, and Mikado took advantage of the defenseless Ranma and kissed him. Meanwhile, Azusa mildly annoyed Akane by placing a new collar on Ryouga and locking it.

Regardless, Ranma was enraged as he’d never felt so humiliated, and he felt even worse because Akane watched him get kissed by another man. So he quickly changed back into a man and fought Mikado right then and there. Although Ranma’s attacks barely hit Mikado at the ice ring, he managed to get some solid 500 hits in, which caused Mikado to pass out in his standing position.

Back at home, Ranma felt humiliated when everyone consoled him by saying, “at least it wasn’t your first kiss”, when it, in fact, was his first kiss. Later, when Akane went to cheer him up we got to see quite a semi-romantic and really cute moment between Ranma and Akane. We won’t go into those details, as we urge you to watch the scene. They sadly don’t kiss, though, hand we expect the series to keep fans on their toes exactly like this.

The episode concluded when Akane’s family interrupted their little moment, leaving Akane, Ranma, and fans with a bitter aftertaste.

3. What To Expect In Episode 9 of Ranma 1/2 (2024)

We can expect the next episode to show Ranma being seriously dedicated to getting better at ice skating, in order to win against the Mikado-Azusa combo at the upcoming match. Akane isn’t going to be lax either, as she needs to win P-chan back from Azusa, and she’d be helping Ranma out, too, to secure victory.

Since we saw that Mikado was really injured in the last episode, we can expect him to barely heal up by the time of the match, which would likely only start by the end of the next episode.
