2. Ranma 1/2 (2024) Episode 9 Recap

Episode 9 of Ranma 1/2 started out at Kolkhoz High School, where Ranma caught hold of Ryouga and poured water on him so that he wouldn’t interrupt his match with Akane. Later, Ranma met up with Mikado in the changing room, where Mikado declared that he’d be stealing a kiss from Akane during the match. This got Ranma really riled up for the match.

After the match started, Mikado went straight for Akane in order to claim a kiss from her. Akane was clearly uncomfortable and pushed him away. Ranma even asked Mikado to stay away from his fiancé, but Mikado decided to ignore his warning. Overall, their competition largely favored Mikado and Azusa, as Ranma had next to no ability to skate.

The fight/competition was wild, and Ranma ended up getting some bones broken due to impact. This is when Ryoga mysteriously managed to free himself, so he poured water on Ranma and tried to replace himself with him, but Ranma wasn’t ready to admit defeat so easily.

It is worth noting that Ranma was quite a gentleman throughout the match since he was really considerate of Akane. This was pretty obvious to Akane as well, and she seemed moved herself. Now, it really looked like Ranma loves Akane, and the audience thought the same. In the end, Ranma decided to not let Akane participate, so he joined hands with Ryouga and entered the ring to defeat Mikado.

Interestingly enough, Ryouga hadn’t practiced skating at all. To top that off, he also had the ornament Azusa had tied for P-chan, so she was completely convinced that Ryouga was her Charlotte. After it seemed that the two had slim chances of winning, Ryouga got frustrated and punched the floor of the ice ring, which broke, revealing the underneath of the ring to be a swimming pool; so now Ryouga was in a pinch because he could transform right in front of Akane and everyone if he stepped on water.

Regardless, the episode ended with Ryouga strengthening his resolve to defeat Mikado and Azusa without transforming in order to impress Akane and to stay with her as P-chan for longer.

3. What To Expect In Episode 10 Of Ranma 1/2 (2024)

In the next episode of Ranma 1/2, we can expect Ranma’s match against Mikado to reach a new peak. Only one issue, though: Ranma is injured with broken bones, and Ryouga’s movements are severely restricted because of the broken ice ring. Ryouga definitely doesn’t want to become Azusa’s pet, so we can expect the chances of Ranma and Ryouga losing to Mikado to be pretty slim, assuming they have the plot armor.

Since Akane almost caught on to the fact that Ryouga may be P-chan, there is also a possibility that the next episode might reveal all of Ryouga’s secrets, which would be quite depressing for him.
