A journey by rails is a nostalgic mode of transportation. While it is an essential mode of transport for daily commuters, it is also a trope in many romantic stories.
Rail Romanesque, the anime version of the Maitetsu game by Lose, strives to bring those nostalgic memories back to us. It is a slice of life anime, which also combines the sci-fi genre.
The official website of Rail Romanesque announced that the anime would be broadcasted from October 2, 2020.
The cast and staff members for the short anime have also been announced.
Rail Romanesque is a short anime of 5 minutes, consisting of 12 episodes in total. It will air on 25:00 on October 2 on the Tokyo MX channel (1 a.m., 3rd October).

The anime is being produced by studio Saetta with Hisayoshi Hirasawa as the chief director, as well as the sound director.
Other members include Takayuki Niguchi for character designs, Koichi Motomura for scriptwriting and AYUMI ONE for music composition.
An alternate reality is shown to us by Rail Romanesque through the human module controlled rails. Each module has a different character; some are aloof while others are friendly, but they all strive to bring back locomotives to towns.
BluRay and DVD versions of the anime will be distributed through crowd-funding and not be made available in general. The purpose of such a campaign is to bring back the memories of selected works of anime from the past.

Adapted from the Maitetsu visual novel by Lose, Rail Romanesque is a collection of 12 episodes of 5 minutes duration each.
Set in a fictional counterpart of Japan, ‘aerocrafts’ are pushing away locomotives that are controlled by humanoid modules.
Sotetsu, an orphan, accidentally awakens a Railord and together, they set out to save his town from water pollution as well as find the Railord’s locomotive.
