The concept of broken weapons is a great unique gameplay mechanic in STALKER 2. Though it causes a lot of frustration, it adds much more depth and realism to the game. In STALKER 2, a weapon wears and tears when you use it or carry it through a toxic environment.

Now, the question arises what to do with these broken weapons? Well, the obvious answer is – get them repaired. However, the game doesn’t give you a fixed area or a cheap mechanism to restore your gun.

1. How to repair weapons in STALKER 2?

Weapons can be repaired by visiting and paying a tech NPC to restore its durability back to 100% in STALKER 2. These tech NPCs can be generally found in the major settlements inside the Zone.

‘Lens’, the tech NPC, found in the Zalissya settlement in the Lesser Zone is the first such NPC you will encounter in the game.

To get your weapon repaired, interact with a Tech NPC to start up a conversation then hit “Q” on your keyboard or “Y” on the controller, which will bring out the “Upgrade” screen.

From this screen, you can repair as well as upgrade your weapon. At the bottom right of the screen, it will show you how much the repair will cost you in coupons. Pay up the price and watch your weapon get restored anew.

The more damaged a weapon, the more it will cost you to get it fixed. A damaged weapon is never good in the battlefield as it runs the risk of poor firing range, accuracy, and jamming. So, don’t hold onto it; get it repaired as soon as you can!
