It’s the spooky season, and Quantum Leap has just delivered a horrifying event set in the past, featuring Ben performing an exorcism – even if it was fake. Ben goes solo in his stint as Father Davenport who was asked to rid Daisy of the demon possessing her.
After a very “The Exorcist” meets Scooby Doo vibes, Ben uncovers the truth behind the fake exorcism and frees Emily from her conniving mother and uncle. Janice makes an appearance too, but before she can do anything more than just introducing herself, Ben leaps again.
Ben lands in the body of a teenager in trouble at camp who, wait for it, is also named Ben. Trippy, right? What do you think will happen in the next episode? Read about our theories below!
1. Episode 8 Synopsis/Speculation
Ben leaps into the body of a 16-year-old boy and finds himself among a group of outcast teens on the run. Ben relies on determination to try and guide himself and Addison to safety, all leading to a shocking revelation as a significant piece of his memory returns.
Ben jumping into the body of a younger Ben gave fans hope that fate must have put Ben in his younger self’s body this time. But the teen we saw in the rearview mirror was clearly not Ben. We can only hope for Ben to visit his childhood, if only in his memories.
The reboot series has dropped hints and paid homage to Sam Bucket, the original time-leaper and we can expect some tidbits in the upcoming finale too.
Janis’ brief appearance in episode 7 could turn into a big reveal about Sam’s disappearance or be the twist the story needs for an ending worth remembering.
The show has teased that Ben might return home in the next season, and the next episode title suggests that Ben’s homecoming will be delayed till season 2.
What’s more, we’ve already seen Ziggy lose Ben in the past and also get stranded without intel in episode 7. Maybe the finale ends with him in between jumps, running solo without any help from the future, and viewers would have to wait for Ben to find his way home alone.
We’ve got to wait till next week to know what awaits Dr. Ben Song in the finale.

5. Episode 7 Recap
Ben finds himself in 1930 in the body of Father Davenport, who’s called to exorcise the demon possessing Daisy. Alone since Addison can’t connect with him, Ben tries and fails to keep terror at bay but finally unveils something that feels off about this haunting.
He uncovers the truth about Daisy’s fake haunting, set up by her mother and uncle, who had been drugging Daisy to kill her off eventually along with her aunt, so that they could run away with Daisy’s inheritance.
They’d been drugging Ben to cover their tracks so that he’d believe their ghost story. But now aware of their plan, Ben sets a scheme of his own with Daisy’s help. They fake Daisy’s death but show the ghost still possesses her and get a confession from her uncle about their actual plan.
The mystery is solved, and Ben bids farewell to Daisy when Janis’ hologram contacts him, but before she can do anything more than introducing herself, Ben leaps. Somewhere in the 80s or 90s, Ben is stuck in a teenager’s body, running with his campmates away from the officials.
