Amazon has been a great partner for these publishers to retail their material using Amazon’s Kindle. Amazon Kindle also serves as a great companion for those readers who prefer digital editions of light novels and mangas compiled together in one device.

J-Novel Club, a digital publisher of English translations of mangas and light novels, announced on July 14 that Amazon had removed some of their publications from Amazon Kindle.

J-Novel Club had also announced on Monday that they had received no notification from Amazon about the delisting. They were made aware of the delistings through messages from users who couldn’t find their material on the e-commerce site.

The same was seen by other publishers like Yen Press and Dark Horse Comics who had partnered with Amazon for the same.

Yen Press and J-Novel Club have issued statements regarding their material being delisted from Amazon Kindle.

J-Novel Club president Sam Pinansky described they had attempted to get in touch with Amazon Kindle support after some of their material got delisted in early May and June.

Despite multiple attempts at inquiry for weeks, J-Novel Club received no specific reason from Amazon regarding the delistings.

The only response they received was saying that “Amazon reserved the right to determine what was considered appropriate on its platform.”

Yen Press Stated on Wednesday that Amazon had determined that some of their material did not fall within their global content guidelines. Yen press added that their books and novels are still on sale with other retailers.
