It’s been almost ten years since Psycho Pass anime was released. It has become a beloved classic among fans, who appreciate its unique blend of thrilling mystery, interesting characters, and thought-provoking story in our society.
To celebrate the tenth anniversary of the anime, the Psycho Pass franchise is back with a film titled “Psycho Pass Providence,” set to be released on May 13, 2023. With this new movie, fans of the series will have the chance to revisit their favorite characters and explore a new story set in the world of Psycho Pass.
On Friday, the official website for the Psycho-Pass anime series released a teaser video for the 10th anniversary film, Psycho-Pass Providence.
The teaser unveils and showcases the theme song “Alexithymia Spare” by Ling Tosite Sigure, as well as the closing theme music “Tjisha” (The One Concerned) by EGOIST. Both artists have previously sung the franchise’s theme songs.
Furthermore, many of the staff members who worked on the Psycho Pass anime are returning to make it a huge success once more.
Naoyoshi Shiotani will return to direct for Production I.G, and TOHO will distribute. Makoto Fukami returns as a scriptwriter alongside Tow Ubukata, who entered the series in Psycho-Pass 2. Ubukata is also entrusted with the film’s music. Naoyuki Onda returns as character designer and chief animation director. Makiko Suzuki as color key artist, Shichi Kusamori as art director, Eiji Arai as makeup director of photography, Yoshinori Murakami as editor, Ygo Kanno as film composer, and Yoshikazu Iwanami as sound director are also back.
Meanwhile, not only the staff but the old cast of Psycho Pass are also reunited that includes:
Kana Hanazawa as Akane Tsunemori, Tomokazu Seki as Shinya Kōgami, Kenji Nojima as Nobuchika Ginoza, Shizuka Itou as Yayoi Kunizuka, Miyuki Sawashiro as Shion Karanomori, and Ayane Sakura as Mika Shimotsuki.
Psycho Pass has always been an amazing anime, and it has a quiet but loyal fan base. Now that a new Psycho Pass film is coming out, fans are excitedly looking forward to seeing the story and characters they know and love, brought to life in a new way.
