Princess Principal Crown Handler Chapter One Cancelled Due To Coronavirus Concerns

Coronavirus outbreak is causing a lot of fan conventions to be postponed indefinitely or even get canceled. Biggies such as Anime Boston 2020 and Anime Japan 2020 have already been canceled. The virus outbreak has also affected release schedules of anime and manga.

Joining the list of anime movies delayed due to COVID-19 concerns is the first season of Princess Principal: Crown Handler Chapter 1. @pripri_anime tweeted out the announcement/apology regarding the film’s delay. The film was originally supposed to release on 10th April.

About Princess Principal Crown Handler Chapter 1:

Princess Principal is a Japanese anime television series produced by Studio 3Hz and Actas. The series was directed by Masaki Tachibana and written by Ichirō Ōkouchi, with original character designs by Kouhaku Kuroboshi and Yukie Akiya, and music by Yuki Kajiura. The series aired from July to September 2017.

Set in the 19th century, the film revolves around Ange, Dorothy & Chise. Princess Principal Crown Handler Chapter 1 takes place after the events of the canon story released in 2017. The Empire takes drastic measures against spies and finds the commonwealth group in charge of spy missions against the Empire — Control to be in disarray, suspecting its members to be double agents.

Control assigns their spy ring Dove with a new mission to extract a secondhand bookstore owner and deliver him to Commonwealth hands. Ange, Dorothy, and Chise successfully spring the bookstore owner from an Imperial prison. Control also assigns Dove to make contact with Bishop, their spy within the royal family, to ascertain their loyalties.
