Prince of Stride Alternative is a culmination of street running, parkour, and technology in the form of a relay. As unique and exciting, it sounds, as extraordinary it is.
The first season which came back in early 2016, received an overwhelming amount of love; fans loved the idea of stride, the extreme sport which the series is all about. To this date, fans are expecting a new installment of the show.
1. Season 2 Release Date & Announcement
The production team of ‘Prince of Stride: Alternative Season 2’ hasn’t shared any official information regarding the second season’s release date.

2. Theory Section
Prince of Stride is an otome game, developed by Kadokawa Games and Vridge together. It was designed for PlayStation Vita and was released back in July 2015.
The game is all about a broken team that gets motivated to run for each other and, in the process, end up with good memories of a sport that they once relinquished.
On the surface, Prince of Stride Alternative seems like a show which is bleak and looks like an advertisement for the game, but it is much more than that.
I. Financial Standings
The sports game got everyone. It was highly praised by people who played it due to its realistic storytelling and likable characters.
Subsequently, the idea of combining street racing and parkour wasn’t something you would find every day in a visual novel. There is no exact data regarding sales.
II. Animation Quality
The development of anime series was carried out by one of the best studios — Madhouse. The artwork is flashy and bright throughout the series; there wasn’t any need of it was, but it certainly doesn’t seem extravagant to people.
The background and visuals are state of the art, and the races are choreographed beautifully and designed in such a manner that it’s certain to give you goosebumps while watching it.
III. Shuji Sogabe’s Health
Shuji Sogabe is the man behind the visual novel of ‘Prince of Stride.’ Currently, there are seven volumes of the novel. Sogabe is healthy and is all well as of now. He is widely known for his other work — ‘The Persona Series.’
Kadokawa Games, along with Vridge Inc., published and developed the otome game based on the novel ‘Prince of Stride.’
3. Production Update
There isn’t any update deeming the second installment of the sports anime. Still, according to several reports, the second season is currently in production and will release by the end of 2021.
Still, if this isn’t true and it’s just a rumor, there are high chances that Madhouse will eventually come around the show and start the production of the second season as they haven’t officially abandoned the sports series yet.
4. Key Visual & Trailer
There are no key visuals or trailers out yet.
5. Fandom’s Response
The first season received mixed reviews from the fans. There were ratings of 6s and 7s, consistently dropping on review sites such as MAL and IMDb. Although the game is really well thought out and is intricately designed with its loveable cast, the anime series failed to deliver all of these.
The characters seemed to be one dimensional, and the worst idea was packing the whole game into a 12 episode series. If Madhouse did a 24-episode series, there would have been more character developments, and the plot would not have felt weak.
Regardless of the cons, the races live up to their hype, and you can feel the adrenaline rushing through your veins when you watch them in action.
