As The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel returns with its season 4, Prime Video has announced that the beloved series will be coming to an end soon.
The Emmy-winning show received two new updates – the good news being that the streamer has renewed it for a season 5, and the bad news being that said season would be its last one.
Production on the fifth and final season of the Amy Sherman-Palladino dramedy has already begun and is currently underway in New York City.
In a statement announcing the news,
Amy, Dan, and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel have blazed an unparalleled path, elevating the stories we tell about women, challenging the norms in our industry, and forever altering the entertainment landscape with their one-of-a-kind storytelling. The dozens of awards cement Maisel’s legacy in many ways, but what’s even more enduring and poignant are the characters Amy created and the joyous, brilliant, singular world she and Dan brought to life.
This series has meant so much to Prime Video and the effects of its success will be felt long after its final season. I can’t wait for fans and our worldwide Prime Video audience to savor each moment as we embark on the culmination of this groundbreaking and unforgettable series.

Actress Rachel Brosnahan, who plays Miriam ‘Midge’ Maisel, took to Instagram to express her excitement for the renewal and a bit of despair at the series nearing its end, calling the start of filming for the final season “bittersweet.”
To say that Maisel has been one of Prime Video’s most valuable shows would be an understatement. The show’s conclusion comes just in time as the streamer prepares to launch its massive The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power series later this year.
Season 5 of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel does not have a confirmed release period yet.
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel season 4 premiered on February 18 on Prime Video, with two new episodes dropping on Fridays.
