It felt like Christmas to PC enthusiasts when God of War abandoned PS4 exclusivity with a PC release. Ever since this move was confirmed, non-PS4 users have been breathlessly anticipating the day they will get to dive into Kratos’ Norse adventures on an entirely different platform.
Now, with that day fast approaching, the devs have some exciting news to share.
Santa Monica Studios took to Twitter to announce that starting from January 12 at 8 am PT; players will be able to pre-load God of War (PC) on Steam before it officially releases on January 14. Unfortunately, the devs are yet to shed light on pre-loads via the Epic Games Store
For the unaware, pre-loading lets you install a game’s file’s on your system before the game releases.
This way, you won’t have to wait for God of War to download on your PC on the day of its launch, and you can play it without any delay since the game files are already downloaded.
Note: It must be kept in mind that pre-loaded files cannot be accessed before the game is rolled out.
Given that God of War has been loyal to the PlayStation for ages, this would be the first time that a larger audience will get to immerse itself in its masterful storytelling and incredible gameplay.
There’s no denying the fact that console exclusive games carry significant importance to make the platform in question even more worthwhile. But at the same time, this selectness can be upsetting to the gaming community as a whole, especially when it comes to titles like God of War.
If we look into the heights that GoW has touched over time, there’s no gamer who wouldn’t want to step into the shoes of Kratos and his son, Atreus, as they romp through the mythological Norse realms.
Thankfully, this PC port allows us to do so, and with pre-loads for the game confirmed as well, all you have to do is wait for a few days to witness an unforgettable gaming experience.
