In last week’s episode, Raq’s meeting with Howard leads to him giving her an ultimatum to tell Kanan the truth. When Raq doesn’t do so, Howard invites Kanan into his car for a chat and tells him that he’s his father.
He warns him that Raq might try to paint him as a liar and that is exactly what happens when Kanan confronts Raq about what he’s learned. Kanan is shocked to learn of Scrappy’s death and comes up with a new plan to make money with Famous.
1. Episode 4 Speculation
Kanan confronts his mother about his conversation with Howard. Raq immediately dismisses it, calling Howard a liar, and tells Kanan to report back to her in case he tells him any more “lies.” He then asks her about Scrappy and she maintains that his death was a suicide.
After meeting Howard again, he learns that Howard was aware of the fact that he shot him. He also learns that Howard doesn’t plan to press charges because he really is his son. Kanan finally realizes what the truth is and is likely to struggle to come to terms with it. Will he confront Raq again?

5. Episode 3 Recap
Juliana is kidnapped from the bodega by Unique. Raq swings by the shop and oddly finds it to be locked. Upon entering, she realizes that the stash house was robbed. After she leaves, Detective Howard invites Kanan into his car for a chat.
He comes clean to Kanan about everything, including being his actual birth father. He warns him that Raq might try to paint him as a liar. Meanwhile, Raq pages Lou-Lou who doesn’t respond because he’s occupied with making music.
Marvin informs Raq that the only person who would rob the stash house is Unique, and likely did it just to get Raq’s attention. Kanan meets Famous and is shocked to learn of Scrappy’s death which is being claimed as a suicide. He wonders why his mother didn’t tell him about it.
The two of them decide to scrap the mixtape plan and sell drugs to gather money.

Created by Sascha Penn, Power Book III: Raising Kanan is an American crime drama series part of the Power franchise. The show is a prequel and second spin-off to the original Power series.
The series is set in the 90s and follows the early years of Kanan Stark as he starts off his career in the drug trafficking industry.
The series premiered in July 18, 2021 and is currently airing its second season.
