Shonen Jump News, a popular X (previously, Twitter) account revealed that Haikyuu!! will be getting a Vertical Color Edition. As of yet, there has been no announcement or confirmation by Jump TOON, but once the manhwa adaptation is confirmed, we can look forward to seeing the volleyball idiots in color soon.

What Might Have Prompted The Haikyuu!! Color Edition Release?

The possible decision to release a colored edition of the 45-volume manga, spanning 402 chapters, could be seen as a gesture to appease the fans. Following the conclusion of Haikyuu!! season 4, which left fans eagerly awaiting news of a new anime adaptation for nearly a decade, the announcement of two anime movie adaptations was a surprise, can’t say a good one.

The two upcoming movies are essentially supposed to cover the entirety of the leftover manga arcs, including the Final Arc. A movie can only cover so much, which means the anime will largely be incomplete compared to its manga counterpart, especially regarding the Final Arc.

Many fans have expressed disappointment over the lack of fully fleshed-out anime season adaptations for some of the most gripping arcs of the Haikyuu!! manga. The fear of their favorite manga panels not being animated has been a source of concern within the fandom. We hear you, and we share your love and concern for the series.

However, with the announcement of a colored edition of fan-favorite manga, fans might be happy about the new content and look forward to it. No confirmation or any other information about the release has been announced yet, but we will keep you updated.
