With the release of Pokemon: The Series, scheduled for next month, things in Pokemon: Sun and Moon are wrapping up. After Ash’s surprising win in the recent Pokemon League Championship and the very first Alola Pokemon League Tournament, one more battle is left before the series comes to a close. After what transpired in the Tournament, Professor Kukui shocked the audience by stepping into the ring for a special exhibition match against Ash. Despite the conclusion of their battle in the most recent episode of the series(Episode 143 titled ‘Conclusion! Gaogaen vs Nyaheat!!’) another surprising twist awaited fans.
Tapu Koko was inspired by seeing the Professor and Ash battle it out and joined the fight along Kukui to defeat Ash. With an all-out battle coming down the pipe, the preview of the next episode teases flashy Z moves.
Episode 144, titled “Alola’s Mightiest Z! Tapu Koko vs. Pikachu!”, is described as
“The battle between Ash and Professor Kukui comes to a close…or at least it was supposed to, but then someone suddenly showed up: The Guardian Deity Pokemon Tapu Koko?! And believe it or not, it said it was joining the battle as Professor Kukui’s partner. It’s a guardian deity vs. the first-ever champion in Alolan history! A battle the likes never before seen finally begins!!”
With Pokemon: The Series, set to premiere on 17th November in Japan, this is an apt ending for the ongoing series to prepare fans for a major reboot. The next series of Pokemon is going to feature every region in the vast franchise instead of just the new region, Galar. Along with this, a new character, named Gou, is going to be introduced as the second protagonist of the series. Designed by Ken Sugimori, Gou will have a Scorbunny as his Pokemon partner and is out to catch ’em all just like Ash.
About Pokemon
Pokemon first released in 1996, is set up in a world where you can catch monsters and store them in pocket-sized poke-balls, thus the name Pocket Monsters or Pokemon. They are creatures with an affinity to certain elements and some superhuman abilities related to the respective element. Revolving around a teenage boy Ash Ketchum, it takes us through his journey to becoming the greatest Pokemon trainer the world has ever seen.
Gotta catch ’em all!!!
