The previous Pokemon games made their players follow a set path while playing the game, but Pokemon Scarlet and Violet beg to differ. In Scarlet and Violet, players have complete control over the progression order in the game.
This means you can battle any gym you wish, and start any of the three storylines in the game in any order. You can even start playing all storylines simultaneously!
But it’s still recommended that you follow a proper progression order in the game to enhance your game experience since you might get overwhelmed if you attempt a difficult battle early in the game or vice versa.
Follow this order of completing the quests in the game to have a smooth, well-balanced experience.
Pokemon Gym Badge, Titan Pokemon, and Team Star Progression
I recommend starting all the storylines at once, because all the storylines have easy battles that can be won easily by a beginner as well as more difficult battles that the player must fight later on in the game.
All the gym leaders, Titan Pokemon, and Team Star opponents must be fought in a particular order since they don’t scale according to the level of the player.
Here’s the best order to complete all the storylines, starting from the lowest-level opponents to the highest level.
1. Cortondo Gym (Victory Road storyline)
–
–
–
2. Stony Cliff Titan (Path of Legends storyline)
–
–
3. Artazon Gym (Victory Road storyline)
–
–
–
4. Open Sky Titan (Path of Legends storyline)
–
–
5. Team Star Dark Crew (Starfell Street storyline)
–
–
–
6. Levincia Gym (Victory Road storyline)
–
–
–
7. Team Star Fire Crew (Starfell Street storyline)
–
–
–
8. Lurking Steel Titan (Path of Legends storyline)
–
–
9. Cascarrafa Gym (Victory Road storyline)
–
–
–
10. Team Star Poison Crew (Starfell Street storyline)
–
–
–
11. Medali Gym (Victory Road storyline)
–
–
–
12. Montenevera Gym (Victory Road storyline)
–
–
–
13. Quaking Earth Titan (Path of Legends storyline)
–
–
14. Alfornada Gym (Victory Road storyline)
–
–
–
15. Glaseado Gym (Victory Road storyline)
–
–
–
16. Team Star Fairy Crew (Starfell Street storyline)
–
–
Opponents: Pokemon trainer Harrington’s Morgrem (Level 48) and Hattrem (Level 49). Ortega’s Azumarill (Level 50), Wigglytuff (Level 50), Dachsbun (Level 51), and Revavroom – Ruchbah Starmobile. Fairy-type Pokemon such as Florges and Tinkatink are present during Star Barrage.
17. False Dragon Titan (Path of Legends storyline)
–
–
18. Team Star Fighting Crew (Starfell Street storyline)
–
–
Opponents: Carmen’s Croagunk (Level 54) and Primeape (Level 55). Eri’s Toxicroak (Level 55), Passimian (Level 55), Lucario (Level 55), Annihilape (Level 56) and Revavroom – Caph Starmobile (Level 56). Fighting-type Pokemon like Hariyama and Primeape will appear in Star Barrage.
After you have defeated all Gym Leaders, Titan Pokemon, and Team Star crews, you will have to face the endgame battle of every storyline. However, these battles can be done in any order because all the opponents in those battles are at level 60.
What should you do after you finish Scarlet and Violet’s main story?
You might think that Scarlet and Violet end once you finish the main story. However, that’s not true. There’s still a lot to do in the game after you finish the main story.
Here are some things you can do even after you finish the main story.
1. Catch Paradox Pokemon
Once you finish all the storylines, you will be granted access to Area Zero, where all Paradox Pokemon are located. Most of these Pokemon are around level 50, despite being so close to the endgame. Catch them to complete your Pokedex.
2. Catch the Stake and Shrine legendary Pokemon
There are various Pokemon locked behind the Shrines that are scattered all over Paldea. They are called Wo-Chien, Chien-Pao, Chi-Yu, and Ting-Lu. They are around level 60, so you can easily take them on.
3. Participate in the Academy Ace Tournament
Once you finish the Victory Road storyline, you will be asked to inspect the gyms you have battled to participate in Academy Ace Tournament. The gym leaders will have level 65+ Pokemon this time, with at least 5 Pokemon on each time.
Once you beat them, you can battle your peers and other faculty members of your academy.
4. Face against strong Terastallized Pokemon in 5-star and 6-star Tera Raids
You can fight in Tera Raids even when you are a new player, but you can participate in tougher Tera Raid battles once you finish the main story.
You can even attempt the 7-star Charizad Tera Raid if you are feeling confident and have finished building some of the strongest Pokemon you have.
5. Complete your Pokedex
Finishing the Pokedex is one of the most beloved game mechanisms in Pokemon fandom. Roam through Paldea and catch ‘em all! After all, nothing else can beat the pure satisfaction you get by looking at your finished Pokedex.
About Pokémon
Pokémon was first released in 1996 and is set up in a world where humans catch monsters and store them in pocket-sized poke-balls.
They are creatures with an affinity to certain elements and some superhuman abilities related to that element.
Revolving around a teenage boy Ash Ketchum, Pokémon takes us through his journey to becoming the most accomplished Pokémon trainer the world has ever seen.
