After the success of Pokemon GO, Niantic knew that mobile gaming is the future for Pokemon games. They made billions of dollars since its launch and have been trying to emulate this with other games as well.
Pokemon Rumble Rush is part of The Pokemon Rumble series, where players can control their Pokemon with just one hand by tapping on the screen. However, when it came to the adventurous nature of Pokemon games and new features, it wasn’t cutting it.
Pokemon Rumble Rush announced on Wednesday that it will end service on July 21 at 9:59 p.m. EDT. The game will halt paid item sales on April 15 at 1:59 a.m. EDT.
The game was launched in May 2019 and deviated from the traditional turn-based bout system of Pokemon games. It offered a third-person view, and players were able to move their Pokemon through different islands fighting with different Pokemon and eventually confronting the boss of that level.
Apparently, the current in-game events will still run till the very end, so the Greninja and the Wonders of Kalos events will run from May 6 to May 27. As for Battle Royale, the Shaymin Cup will run from April 22 to May 6, and the Zygarde Cup will run from May 13 to May 27.
