Pokemon is a household name that is known across generations. The franchise has rolled out a continuous stream of games and anime which has led to its prosperity. The anime can be divided into 23 seasons overall.
With Pokemon Journey: The Series debuting in the USA on 12th June on Netflix, fans are sure to be interested in the new season. The previous series of Pokemon Journey is Pokemon Sun and Moon.
Pokemon Sun and Moon started airing on DisneyXD for the US audience from May 2017 to March 2020. This series was followed by Pokemon Sun and Moon: Ultra Legends and Ultra Adventures.
For fans who want to catch up on the previous Pokemon series before starting to watch Pokemon Journey, a short clip has been posted to give a glimpse into the Alola region arc. This clip of almost 3 mins has been posted on the Twitter account of Pokémon.
This is also a nice opportunity for fans who are still hungover from the Sun and Moon series to get a recap of it.
Pokemon Sun and Moon mainly revolved around the evergreen protagonist of Pokemon, Ash Ketchum, and Pikachu as they travel to the Alola region and learn the power of Z-moves.
However, unlike the other arcs, Ash doesn’t battle gym leaders throughout the region but rather enrolls in a Pokemon School.
The art style of Sun and Moon is completely different from its precedents and focuses more on making the characters adorable and cartoonish. The cutesy art style is reflected in the recap clip.
Pokemon Journey: The Series has a young boy, Goh accompanying Ash on his journey. They are also joined by a girl named Chloe.
The series will feature all the regions which have previously appeared in the anime. Regions like Kanto to Galar will all resurface. It is a quest to learn about all types of Pokemons.
The Pokemon franchise has 22 films to its name and a 23rd is on its way.
About Pokemon
Pokemon, first released in 1996, is set up in a world where humans catch monsters and store them in pocket-sized poke-balls, thus the name Pocket Monsters or Pokemon.
They are creatures with an affinity to certain elements and some superhuman abilities related to that particular element.
Revolving around a teenage boy Ash Ketchum, it takes us through his journey to becoming the most accomplished Pokemon trainer the world has ever seen.
