Ash recently hatched a Riolu literally out of nowhere. During Pikachu’s treatment in one of the Pokemon Centers, Ash is mysteriously called upon by an egg.
As soon as Nurse Joy handed over the egg to Ash, it instantly hatched into a Riolu. True ‘Pokemon Trainers’ know how big of a deal it is to get a Riolu considering its rarity.
Ash also managed to catch a Dragonite recently. If any non-Legendary Pokemon, which is close to beating a Legendary, then it has to be a Dragonite.
Ash never had a Dragonite before, and adding that to his Pokedex gives a considerable advantage to Ash in battles. But, with greater assets come greater challenges, and it is finally time Ash’s Dragonite comes into action!
Recent leaks suggest that Dragonite will be used in Ash’s battle against Korrina’s Mega Lucario in the upcoming Episode 25.

Ash has never used Dragonite before, so we can’t predict how well the pair will work together. However, Dragonite has a huge type advantage against Fighting/Steel Lucario, being a pure Dragon-type.
Both Lucario and Dragonite are top-tier attackers, but when it comes to defense and stamina, a well-trained Dragonite could very well be unbeatable.
However, we are talking about a Mega Lucario here. Its high attack and special attack stats become twice as deadly. It also benefits from STAB, which means all moves that are the same type as Mega Lucario will be increased by 100%.
In other words, if Korinna’s Mega Lucario knew close-combat, its power would be boosted from 120 to 240, and Dragonite will bite the dust in no time.
It is hard to tell whether it will be an all-rounder Dragonite or an attack beast Mega Lucario. Dragonite is strong and has high defense stats as well.
Still, in front of such power, any attempts to fight Mega Lucario can be futile. Personally, I think Mega Lucario has the upper hand here. Still, nonetheless, a fight between the two will be a big clash, and we can’t wait to see it.
